Hoop Blah That doesn't mean we have to accept it though.

If only life was really like that. If you think it's an issue worth not attending matches for then go ahead and boycott the games but do make sure that the club know that's the reason you're not attending. That's really the only leverage you have on something like this which you clearly care passionately about but the vast majority of Reading supporters (quite a different demographic to the people on Hobhob, BTW) don't give a tinker's cuss about. But in reality that's the only leverage you have.

All credit to you for caring so passionately, but this is a commercial organisation you're dealing with - if the club was owned by its supporters things would be different, but it's not, and neither is it a democracy.

So if you really think you can get enough people interesting in this issue to make a protest to show how you "don't accept" it then good luck to you, but I can't think where you'd start.

Just to offer an alternative to Dirkers method - you could try sabotaging the stereo system.

I thought someone had when Mr PA System's voice was very very quiet before announcing Mr Mad onto the pitch!

Sarah Star
Royal Lady If, for example, STAR came up with 10 different "goal music" songs and put them on their website or something for people to vote, at least if the one chosen wasn't what "one" personally voted for, they'd have had a say. You can't please everyone all of the time, that's obvious enough - but celebrating goals is what the fans do and to not include them in any discussion/vote or whatever is a bit short sighted. I'd also have an option in any poll for "no music" btw!

Why don't you start a poll here asking for nominations for the ten pieces of "goal music" and see what everyone comes up with.

No music always seems to come out top in these polls though.

Set up a thread asking for people to name their top tune and then at the end of a week record what there is on that thread (and take NO MUSIC as a given entry) and put it to an offical vote for all fans for a set period of time. At the end of that period calculate the top three options and then set another vote for those options to see where the actual preference lies - then you can report to the club that this is what a cross section of supporters want whether its a specific tune or nothing at all.

The same format could also be done to settle on a tune for the players to run out to.

Simples.

Uhm... thats what I was trying to do here, but you're right it probably needs a new thread.

I can't understand why STAR can't do a poll on their website - as if they advertise it on here, they get the HNA voters, in the E-Po they get other more local voters and if they put it in a match day programme they get another cross section of voters. Just doing a poll on here isn't really a true cross-section imo.

The STAR website's undergoing change. I'm not sure it's possible to do polls there atm tbh

But neither is any website that doesn't require registration or validation. All someone needs to do is to post the relevant link onto the Swindon or Oxford or Aldershot equivalent of HNA? (or anyone of 88 others) and the whole exercise is instantly invalid.

So put a poll up on STAR website and make sure you have to be registered and validated. Anyway, that doesn't stop people on here having x number of accounts. I just suggested STAR as they speak for all fans, rather than HNA which doesn't.

Sarah Star I'd go with the ten nominations and a vote here because I'm curious to see what the outcome is and whether it will happen. Far easier to do it here than on the STAR website (although subject to the usual bias that this is an HNA? poll and will get block votes from those with multiple usernames and logins and no votes available to those who haven't joined the site or had their registrations accepted yet).

So for choice of music so far we have:

Tom Hark (original music)
Chasing the Sun (darts music)
Jump around (the new one)
Terry & June
The boys are back in town

As RL posted, any others?

We all know the cub refuse to not play any music at all.

The club also refuse to have hoops all the way round the shirt, white socks and white shorts but thats for a different thread.

Back to the original topic put 9 song choices then the 10th suggestion is 'No music after goals'.

My postal vote is No music after goals.

Once again the fans are being conned by the club. The fact Madejski won't make a substantial investment in the person who chooses the music shows his complete lack of ambition. First we stop getting the Army to deliver the ball then we got rid of that dog that juggled it and now this. GET THE OXFORD OUT NOW Madejski.

I'd hardly call a juggling dog 'pointless shit'.

Think before you post.
