Royal Ginger
madreadingfan From Football Ground Guide:

Around a 10-15 minute walk away is the Sir Percy Florence Wetherspoons outlet on Christchurch Street, in nearby Boscombe. Away fans are welcome at this pub, but no colours are allowed. Next door to Wetherspoons is the Mello Mello bar which also admits away supporters (and with colours). Otherwise alcohol is available to visiting supporters inside the stadium at £3 a pint.

Although Bournemouth is hardly a hotbed violent crime, any local nutters are likely to be found in Boscombe.

TOTMFP

I used to live not-very-far-away from this pub, and never saw any hassle in there. The closest thing to hassle was a guy walking around with a placcy bag saying "anyone want any meat???" Even the piss heads all turned their noses up - then one bloke said - ok what have you got. He pulled out a £15 joint of beef and sold it to him for £3. Then, like a scene out of only fools & horses, the floodgates opened.

CSB

Anyway - Hawkwood car park, 1 mins walk from the Percy Shelly, is free from 6pm. And it is only a 10min walk to the ground - cutting across Kings Park

so for that reason I'm hitting up the Shelly.

Not managed to get a ticket for this one despite living here. Any nobbers in the Brasshouse pub town center? I live less than a minute away and fancy a beer.

The Sir Percy was dead at about 3pm.

How far is it from the ground? Football ground guide says 10-15 however maps say 60 mins walking?

Need somewhere with a bit of atmosphere

Ended up supping Orange Juice in a "bar" opposite Mello/SPF Wetherspoons - it was probably the worst "bar" I've ever been in my life. Like a really really tragic tribute to the Phoenix Club.

It was llike something out of a comedy strip. The lads came legging it into Wetherspoons with a few of 'em saying "let's stay here". Before they all trotted off over the road to some back alley bar - 'Shark Bites'.

Just a quick one on this, how many points were required to buy on the first day of sales? Can anyone remember?
