Judge Drenthe
One8Seven1 Who said anything about gaining a supporter? It helps promote the brand, it will help with securing future sponsorships, it helps in changing people's perception of the football club and our status within the game.

I think Mr Compo is having a bit of a mare here and seems unable to see the bigger picture.

I'm afraid you think it's a far bigger deal than it is and are getting a bit carried away by it.

LOLz at newbie's who haven't a clue and believe any old nonsense the club will throw at them. If anything the brand awareness just leaves us the butt of other supporters jokes

Pointless argument with someone seemingly so opposed to anything that helps take the club forward.

You are, genuinely, the most miserably dull Reading fan on the internet.

I was at Quali on Sat when the cars went round without the Royals sponsorship. I saw a couple of Marussia flags and caps about. The Marussia twitter has been doing the same as the Reading one, so i'm sure like us, some F1 fans will be following how the Royals get on this season.

I certainly have always been a McLaren supporter but will now look out for Marussia as well, just to wish them well. So they've gained supporters because of this link. I will be buying a model F1 car like i have of the McLaren if they have the Royals motif on it... plus the new F1 game will have it on it too. If you do the career you normally start with them/Virgin or Caterham, so that's exposure too.

Already noted that the Royals Logo has been moved from the Prominent position on the engine cover section to the endplates of the front wing.

Moved or in addition to? I thought it was the latter.

The problem is that "Royals" is not the brand, and club badge is not recognisable from anywhere but the closest shot. So what is the point of promoting something called "Royals" when it's not at all obvious who that is to Joe Public.

The actual end plates are pretty much just there to hold the various winglettes etc. If you watch it enough you will see countless occasions where after a minor collision the end plates fly up in the air and as long as the main wing stays intact then the cars continue with hardly any difference in performance.

That's not true, it flies off in the air on contact with another car or obstruction. It then lies on the track. Who knows, maybe the Royals will derail Vettel if he hits them!

Good bit of TV time for the logo there as we get a super slow-mo of a burning Marussia, before it rolls down the hill on it's own.

One of the cars just combusted, and then after it was put out managed to roll backwards down the hill across the track

definitely a good omen for the season

Reading and Marussia definitely a good link up together with that shambles on the track.
