If at the start of the season everyone who wants a season ticket has purchased one, why is it still impossible to change a name on a ST?

Because they are non transferrable ?

Why would you want to change the name rather than just buy a ticket in the new name ?

To get that exact seat?

I don't understand the question. Why do you want to change the name, surely you just buy a ST in that seat?

If you want to transfer a specific seat you hold a ST for to somebody else then you can do that too.

I got a call but wasn't about. Again said they would call back but never did. Am unable to renew due to other commitments this season

My old man got a call, I didn't which is understandable

They just asked him a few q's about why he hadn't renewed.

He gave a far more curtious response than the one he gave leaving the Burnley game

If you want someone else to have the seat which is held in someone's else's name, you'd have to not renew it, then hope that it doesn't get snapped up before you then try and buy it in the new person's name. So, if say I became unable to attend home matches any more, , my sister wouldn't be able to have my ticket but change it to her name. If we didn't renew my ticket, and then tried to get the same seat but in my sister's name, you're taking a big gamble that it would still be available if it's in a prime position. This is all hypothetical of course, but I just wondered why you couldn't do that if you wanted to.

In the past I have helped somebody take over someone else's seat that wasn't going to be renewed, which is what I think you're looking at doing.

All it needed was a ST application from the new buyer, together with a note attached from the existing holder confirming that they're not renewing that seat and are happy with that "transfer".

As long as we're in a situation where there's not a queue for ST renewals and there's no points restriction on buying STs then there should be no problem.

You can/ I did it myself a couple of weeks back.

An esteemed acquaintance of mine didn't renew this year so I (a non-ST holder) took his seat instead during the renewal period AND at the renewal price. All above board and in my name.

I'm still not clear what the name has to do with it anyway - if someone else wants your seat just renew it, change the contact address to their address and getthem to pay for it.

Strictly speaking it's against the t&c's of the ticket and I guess the club could revoke the ticket if they found out, but they wouldn;t unless you had done it as a commercial deal (ie charged a premium)

Even when I pointed out that if I couldn't get that specific seat then I wouldn't get a ST at all, they refused to hold it and said I'd have to take my chances on open sale.

Seems a bit pointless to me, potentially doing yourself out of £420 quid.

Sorry - it all depends on what you mean by "transfer".

Some of this thread talks about buying aST and then changing the name on it to someone else (not allowed) whilst some of it talks about a new purchaser taking over the ST seat of someone who hasn't renewed their ST.
