Not sure I agree with that. Surely it's the single colour approach that you consider lazy, rather than the fact it's white? I mean, doesn't exactly take a lot of effort to change your design from all white to eg. all red.

It just feels like they've just drawn the outline of the shirt onto the paper. Job done.

Only if the paper's white, which I'll grant you most paper is, but these designer types have probably got a few other colours knocking around.
