royalexile I see the 'banners' are being handed out in the concourse as opposed to being placed on seats. A sensible option really so i am going to presume there is limited availability.

Wages could be a problem?

Compo's Hat If ever there was a reason not to be a member of STAR next season then this is it. Your membership fee will be well spent!

Well it wasn't spent on clappers

Clappers were absolutely fucking awful.

Great atmosphere generated by the East Stand who largely ignored them.

I have to say, I hate them but to see the South, West and North all making noise (chanting, clapping and those god awful clappers) was a beautiful sight! So reluctantly, more please! I just wish the other stands joined more often.

Agreed...Clappers just drown out any chants etc...might aswell just play sound interference across the PA system...

10/10 for mong-ability though... :|

From what I could see - they were used predominantly in the South, West and North for the first, maybe 15 minutes of the game, but after that there was little evidence of them - the crowd used their voices and their hands to try and spur the team on - it was great!!!

I'm sure you'd like to think that, but I can assure you the stand was awash with them. Maybe fewer in Y26 but they were there too.

They might be a bit gimp but as pointed out above, they got the place rocking pre kick off an the noise never let up, with every stand joining in. Once we went ahead it was something special to hear the whole stadium chanting in unison.

They won't be there every match but they were a bit of fun and did a job. Some of you miserable sods need to chill out and give a bit of credit for a change.

They're not for me but they made a hell of a noise last night, can't for the life of me work out RL's comment that there was little evidence of them after the first 15 minutes

South reminded me of Club Wembley, full of happers clappers and half empty at the start of the second half.

OK maybe not 15 minutes - but far less evident in the second half for sure.

If it's any consolation Bayern fans were given clappers in the CL Semi last night.

^This.
Loathe the idea of them, but they got other parts of the stadium involved last night and i thought the atmosphere was fantastic.

Fun for the first 5 minutes... but it appeared that the same people who like to use the clappers are the same people who don't know the songs and can't hold a basic beat. The bird behind me had the the rhythm of an X-factor first round contestant... she just kept clappering away...

Plus as has been said numerous times chants started and then got drowned out by the malcoordinated clappering.

Really don't think we need them for big games / important games... sorry to be a spoil sport but yeah, after the first 5 minutes they were just a nuisance.

They were good at getting everyone involved in the build up, by didn't help the atmosphere during the match.

They'd all gone by the time I got there but knicked a few at the end to go with my collection of all the other gimp marketing the clubs come up with over the years 8)

Saw one proudly displayed in the window of a house on the way to work today, LOLled when I realised how much it would enrage people
