And then Karacan scored in the 97th minutes so karma was satisfied....

Just FTR, the Football League changed the fixture compilation criteria this year.

In the past they've not allowed clubs to specify that they prefer long-distance midweek games as it disadvantaged travelling fans, and filtered these out when possible, but this year they scrapped that rule, which is why there seem to be so many more long-distance midweek games.

The clubs love this, commercially, as they say that if they can keep the weekend games for local matches then attendances will be better - the longer the distance the fewer the number of supporters who travel away, so they reckon it's commercially better to have long-distance games midweek.

So, for the first time in quite a few years they've allowed commercial interests to come ahead of the interests of travelling fans. Bastards!

Don't think it's made much difference to Readings season, only Leeds is a serious distance away - although now because of what seems to be a fixture cock up you can add nottm forest on a Friday

Blackpool 228 miles.
Burnley and Leeds 219 miles.
Blackpool, Burnley, Bolton and Blackburn aren't many miles behind Leeds either. A fair bit of travel this season!

Believe he's talking about night games in which case:
Leeds and Barnsley - bloody miles
Forest - Bit of a nuisance
Bournemouth - fine

If you go by your point Barnsley, Blackburn, Blackpool, Bolton, Burnley, Doncaster, Huddersfield, Leeds, Middlesborough, Wednesday and Wigan are all really long distance.

Pissed off that Forest has been moved to Friday evening. We could have brought a fair few to the Saturday game (by Reading's standards).

Still going to that though, and Leeds away.

Barnsley, Blackpool, Wigan, Burnley, boro - no. Unless they end up meaning something important. I've been to Wigan and burnley before, but not the others.

General Train ticket advice

I'm looking at train tickets to some of the up coming away games - specifically Derby away. Can get two singles for about £19 each.

What's the best method of buying tickets, e.g. when, what website, etc...

I usually try to look at the tickets EXACTLY 3 months before the date as that's the first time they are available, however it doesn't seem to make any difference. All I have noticed is that booking last minute is FARKING expensive.

Away matches I will go to

Derby vs Reading (new ground)
Sheffield Wednesday vs Reading
Nottingham Forest vs Reading
Watford vs Reading
Ipswich vs Reading (new ground)
Millwall vs Reading (been here about 5 times - love it!)
Leeds United vs Reading
Birgmingham vs Reading
Brighton vs Reading
Charlton vs Reading
AFC Bournemouth

NOT GOING TO:

Huddersfield vs Reading - no
Boro vs Reading - no
QPR vs Reading - no

Not sure about Doncaster away on last game of season. If we get promoted then obviously yea will go. If it's just a "meh" season, then not going. #plastic

IN for all currently, until money or other plans get in the way.

100% no matter what going to - Bolton, Yeovil, Wednesday, Watford, Millwall, Ipswich, Brighton, Brum, Charlton, Bournemouth, Doncaster

Should be going to - Blackpool, Derby, Burnley, Blackburn, Forest, Huddersfield, Leicester, QPR, Wigan

Less likely but still hopeful - Barnsley, Middlesborough, Leeds

Is there any chance of Nottingham Forest away being moved again?

This is on Friday 29th November?

I doubt it, but wanted to check as I'm booking a hotel there.

This. I still can't make the Brighton game (although will try to Sky Plus it now and my fin out the score) but I already had annual leave sorted for Leeds, now it's likely I'll be turned down for swapping it

I would doubt it, if Sky want it for TV they don't have to move it now. So I'd say it was unlikely. Luckily I can make it on both days so hoping it won't change again!
