St. Brynjar Got my tickets, can't wait for this. Managed to get a decent sized group going, might be my last away trip before uni.

Last away trips before uni are so viewtopic.php?f=18&t=119873.

Some info for the day:

No alcohol is to be served at the ground if it is a capacity away crowd, which looks likely.
The Bell in Preston Road is shut indefinitely after a fire in January.

Well he was desperately seeking attention by trying to show off that he as a non-Reading fan could still easily get tickets for a sell-out match that lots of other Reading supporters wouldn't be able to get tickets for. It must be a bit annoying when it turns out that everyone who wants tickets can get them. Back to the drawing board.

Couldn't get the tickets I required through the website today for some reason (they all have enough Royalty points), but called up the T/O and still some left...

...so IN for standing at Yeovil 8)

There is one decent train to Yeovil Pen Mill which only takes only 1hr 50mins, the rest are all at least half an hour longer, and most go to Yeovil Junction in the middle of nowhere:

dep 09:04 Reading [RDG] to Westbury (Wilts) [WSB] arr 09:56

dep 10:02 Westbury (Wilts) [WSB] to Yeovil Pen Mill [YVP] arr 10:54

Leaves a few hours to make the 3 mile journey to the ground, starting with a breakfast at 'Spoons:

The William Dampier
97 Middle Street
Yeovil
Somerset
BA20 1LN

Going to look into other boozer's en route.

If that is too early, then there is another one leaving Reading at 11.04, arriving at 13.16 but this would require a quick step or a taxi :(

Thought you said you were 16 on the Bolton thread? You can drink coke at the ground.

We really are not, but who cares other than Brighton followers and CHelsea fans?

Presumably the booze ban will only apply if all 150 spare tickets are sold.

I'm getting on the train at Basingstoke to arrive at 1138 in Yeovil Junction - I think that's about 2 miles from the whetherspoons but will head in that direction. There isn't a train link unfortunately so will have to get bus or taxi.

I'm not entirely sure how to get to the ground. I don't wanna walk 3 miles so may have to resort to a taxi. Will probably head to spoons and stay there till about 2ish and then get taxi up.

Police decision apparently. They have a beer tent at the ground, but if the away end has sold out (Which I imagine it's likely to many times there this season), then they won't let away fans in there.

The Arrow pub in Yeovil serves food etc and then is less than a mile walk to the ground, could be an option? Taxi From Yeovil Junciton to the Arrow, about a ten minute drive, and then a walk up to the stadium after a few beers?

The game is 3 weeks away m8. But agreed, would be a bit Mickey Mouse if we failed to sell out this one. At least then it might put to bed any ridiculous pretensions of Reading being a 'big club' :!:
