Bastards, I don't own a proper hooped shirt. Got the barcode one from circa 97 and one of the westcoast ones... 2004 possibly. Got it the year Death died I believe. (strange sentence)

I've heard the club will be releasing the kits but at different times. I don't have a date, but the new home kit is to be unveiled at the scheduled open day. New away strip is to be released later, rumoured to be either Murty's testimonial or the home friendly vs Chelsea. Source from Reading Chronical.

If you want a truly hooped shirt get the retro Robin Friday effort - now that was proper football kit not the nancy boy airy fairy advertising statements we get charged 40 odd quid for these days.

When the kits are announced what's the betting it says "we hope to have the home shirt available for the first home game of the season for those that pre order, the away kit will be available in September/October and there's a £5 discount for those that pre-order both".

No thanks, I'll wait for next season's new kit.

I would be willing to take that bet on - but that may be considered insider trading as we attended management meeting this week and the word was that the new home kit will be in the Megastore on the open day and that there will be no pre-ordering just a discount for s-t holders.

Well, bit more organised this year. No mention of the away kit but

http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10306~1703588,00.html

Open day is Sat 11th July 9am - 5.30pm

Players and management in attendance at various times during day

Home kit available (probably not enough to meet demand of course)

£35 adults, £25 kiddies

Club will send out a £10 discount voucher for the shirt to ST holders in 1st week of July (therefore if experience is anything to go by I'm not expecting to receive it until late July/early August)

Id like to see a boycot by the fans for the new RFC shirt.. £10 off is no big deal when you have 3 kids all as season ticket holders. Plus short & socks..

Its not as if there will be any real investment in the playing staff. I feel we are being ripped off.. :?:

So don't buy it.

The club is offering it for sale - but it's not compulsary to purchase it.

If you feel you can't say "no" to your kids then I suggest you need to re-evaluate your parenting skills.

Or tell them that they need to save their pocket money to buy it.

I hope you're not passing on your grammatical skills to your kids.

So you are the perfect parent? If not, I would suggest it is pretty arrogant/dangerous to offer such suggestions on the basis of so little evidence!

Could be that REALROYAL and others are very good parents and will say 'no' to their kids. That doesn't mean that they enjoy doing it, that it is easy to do and won't cause some ructions in the short term. But then most good parents would realise that!
