PieEater Although expect some pedants to remind you it's not actually your seat, and you'll still get a great view 20 rows further back.

Well despite what people say, I'm taking a screw driver and an 8mm spanner to the last home game before the expansion and taking my seat home with me.

I hope with the expansion, somewhere the name "Reading FC" can be incoporated in the seating...

Agreed. The stadium name is pretty awful for seating.

Brighton just had the planning permission accepted for 8000 more seats.

Anything they can do......

And without wishing to repeat myself too much from the 'Area around the stadium is drab' thread, some more amenities would be good.

I believe I'm right in saying they can achieve that without touching the roof line - i.e. upper tier to the East and fill in the corners.

^^ This. Some out-of-town stadiums have decent amenities around them - for instance, IIRC, the DW Stadium has a reasonable number of eateries in the same area, and even the Britannia (for all it's faults) does at least have a reasonable pub/restaurant nearby.

Nothing like the MadStad on the inside though - totally different kind of expansion. Their corners aren't filled in whereas the MS has a continuous bowl.

'zackly, there's tons of room in the amex to add seats just in the gaps, before you even need to start going vertical

"5,000 seats will be added by the start of next season, with 500 more added in December. The second phase will see the remaining seats installed in 2013."

That's quick! That also seems like more than just the corners. I read somewhere (can't find it now) that they were also planning to add a second tier to their other side stand. I assume that will be the second phase.
