sam158_uk yeah the guy said they sold a lot 2day(more than average) compared to the other days so probably why because of half season tickets etc.

hope it dont go on general sale that would be the worst though-then all the plastics would turn up

Or the man in the street who can't afford a ST for him and his kids.

Jerry St Clair
sam158_uk just spoke to ticket office just under 5,000 sold so far so not 2 bad.

Seriously?

This is bad news. Sounds like a splastics day out, a la Arsenal.

Well done!!

Why is everyone so surprised?

So, 8 pages in, it's looking like spot on pricing by both clubs and a very nice pay day for RFC :?

It's not nice pricing is it, it's just that those that went to the league game haven't bothered.

Well yeah, thats why Im suprised to see that yesterday someone posted and said we had sold 5k :?

Unless the man at the TO didnt know what he was on about, but having said that, he did seem pretty knowledgeable about how many we had sold and how many was left.

Yeah exactly, bearing in mind that we still have 4 days until the game so plenty of time for the plastics to get their tickets, I can see us taking about 5k up there, which will be bloody impressive!

Jerry St Clair Er, no.The quality of the atmosphere is directly proportionate to the number of fans attending. For example:

500 at Preston on a Tuesday night = cracking atmosphere
7,000 at Arsenal on a Tuesday night = shit atmopshere.

I'm starting to dread this trip. It's going to be a circus of face-painted twats.

Don't go, then. Simple. Pseudo-elitism is so boring.

I'm sure I hear the low strain of the Hovis ad tracking under every post that starts "me and 8 others were t'only ones that made that trip t'Hartlepool on a rank Wednesday evening, having started walking three weeks earlier to make sure we made kick-off. We didn't eat at all to save up the 7/6 it cost to get in and do you know, we were grateful for the chance to stand on open terracing and die of pneumonia before half-time. Folk today, they won't believe you when you tell 'em, but that were real football and we were real fans."

Allowing for Northern Royals etc, around 3000 will be trekking 400 round-trip miles to this game. They'll have earnt the right to be there in whatever state they choose to be in and to not be sneered at by those who think that they alone know how to support a team and everyone else is wrong. There is another way. There are many ways.

Talking of "circuses", see you in The Circus on Portland Street around 1pm on Saturday to re-animate the debate? Or will it be the "interestingly varied" Walkabout/Yates/O'Neill's circuit for you?
