Interesting to note Readings away support is on average 100 people less than Oxford Uniteds.

They don't have to pay £35 to go to Leeds.

Noted that the attendance was reported in most places as being 17,825 and understand that this is number of tickets sold, rather than people who actually turned up on the day. Reading The Times' match report, they've got the attendance listed as 14,473 - never realised this number was actually released. Know that there was train problems for a lot of Bristol City fans but wondered if a discrepancy of 3k+ was normal?

Got to stick up for Kes a little bit here - Everyone giving Chelsea grief for getting better crowds now the team is doing well. Does this not happen at every single club in the Country, including our own?! :|

It does happen everywhere. We've gone from 6,000 odd at The Mong Stad to plans of stadium expansion :| (which, ftr, I hope never happens)

Or become crippled by financial problems, drop down a few divisions and end up with as many empty seats on a matchday as the ground holds already

NEVER say never

Attendance isn't the amount of tickets sold, its the amount that come through the gates. Now we have an automated system its easier to total up how many have come in.

The number we report is the total number of tickets sold, including STH's who've not turned up (and people on trains). We used to report actual numbers who turned up but when we went to the PL it was one of their requirements that we reported total tickets and we never went back for some reason.
