Wizard Have we given Burnley the whole of the south stand? If so, this is quite impressive: http://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/page ... 36,00.html

And if we haven't, it seems a bit unfair.

Nah just half. To be fair, Im sure we'll probs sell the other half so I'd rather have Reading than Burnley fans in.

I'm sure it won't be a problem (we won't get there) but in relation to Wembley tickets, I will be absolutely fuming if they don't do STH's first.

Wizard
Huntley & Palmer No, just the normal away end. Why is that unfair?

Coz they have given us 1900 tickets with a further 1200 if needed. Surely we should have given them that bit, plus the extra half if needed, like against Southampton and Bristol City (which presumeably they could fill if they've sold out already)

The tickets they have offered, is the normal amount for the away end as well. They don't have the ability to split it in two for home/away fans

I agree and disagree. Those with points now in the 1000 mark have them for their loyalty, where as some jimmy come lately could have bought a season ticket last summer and jumps ahead of them? Which one is more important? The answer is neither IMO, but there's a case for both to feel aggrieved here.

With 36,000 tickets, I don't imagine anyone here missing out that has at least 400 points on their cards.

'greed, and they have that horrible tight concourse which couldn't possibly be split, and if I remember rightly, we all enter that stand via the side just off the main road, and you couldn't have two sets of supporters entering there.

It's just tough on them to be honest. It's on telly, so they wont be that fussed.

All the more reason for a "re-alignment" of Royalty Points. Last three seasons worth should do it.

How about selling to those that have renewed their STs already, and thus promised to back the side next season regardless of which league they're in?

The only reason to use any kind of pointssystem if we get to the final would be to make the selling process easy and avoid massive queues.

36,000 tickets would be one per member card - unless they decide to allow STH to get 2 per card which would be a fairly reasonable thing to do.

There really isn;t going to be a problem for anyone getting a ticket if we get to the final.

STH's should get first priority it's one of the perks of having one.

I see Burnley have reserved all ST holder seats until the end of tomorrow for the game on Saturday so christ knows why we had to release ours so early.

Agree with your second point (even though we haven't renewed) but not sure what your first one would mean. I can't believe two separate conversations I've had with people already today - both bought half-season STs in 05/06, full STs in the Premier League years and haven't been to one game this season. Both are talking about getting tickets for the playoff final. If I were someone who couldn't aford an ST and therefore missed out on chunks of the PL years after years of following us in the lower divisions, I'd be interested to know whether a "roll up" would put me at a disadvantage to fair weather fans such as that.

Because RFC are only interested in making sure we sell all our tickets, not that ST holders should receive enough time to get their seat

My first point was that Royalty Points earned more than, say, three seasons ago would cease to exist. This would ensure that fans who are actively financially supporting the club remain at the front of the queue for Wembley trips and big away days. Sure, some would be disadvantaged (like stundents going off to college) but hey, omlettes and eggs and all that.

In your example the points for the HSTs would have fallen away and they'd have a whole season's fewer points than a prem ST holder who renewed after relegation.

I'm not sure that having a season ticket should give anyone more of a right to a Wembley ticket than someone who attends every home game but pays "on the gate". It's not quite the same as being able to reserve your own seat for a cup match - which I think is fair enough. Royalty points would seem a fairer method of distribution, providing they were "current", as above.

My second point was a little tongue-in-cheek but the same logic applies - reward those who invest in the club.

Not saying at STH has more right, more that it's always been a perk of buying one that you get first dibs on games like a Wembley final, should we make it.

I had a season ticket for 4 or 5 years of the scheme, and didn't have thr funds to buy one this year. Why should some Premiership JCL have first dibs? I've got the points to show I've been there.

Nothing wrong with a running royalty point total at this moment in time IMHO.

Nothing wrong with ST holders getting priority at Wembley either (and I say this as a non-ST holder).

If they don't then I'd just use royalty points to layer the days of sale and ease pressure on the ticket office.

Because they're the ones who've put their money where their mouth is at the begining of the season.

The points system is there to help grade the supply, and god knows I've disagreed with the way the club have used it over the years, but I do think ST holders deserve first dibs as they've committed their money to the club.

It's unfortunate that some loyal fans don't have ST's but that's one of the risks you take when you don't pay upfront.

How things change. When we went to the Millenium Stadium to play Walsall I got priority on 6 tickets per ST. As I had 4 STs at the time I was able to take a great wedge of mates along. I'll bet the deal won't be quite so generous to us this time (and a good thing too!)

Going back even further I booked a coach and was able to buy 40+ tickets for the Simod Cup Final

Maybe it is a slight premature, but what are the chances of me getting tickets for Wembley? I only have about 100 royalty points coz I couldn't go to matches before this season. But I've not struggled to get into any home matches at 24000 capacity, so if we get 36000 tickets, surely I should be fine?

Well, on both the last 2 occasions that we have been to a play off final we have sold out and could have taken more. At the time, our ticket sales for the Bolton game represented the highest number of tickets for a club to have sold for a Wembley game (because they don't allocate as many to Cup Final teams of course).

We have a huge fan base for this type of game, and I'd be surprised if we don't sell out again even in the newly enlarged Wembley. Having said that, if you have Royalty points and are happy to get to the ticket office to queue when they announce that you are eligible I'd be surprised if you don't get one. As a fall back, see if you have mate with more points who isn't going.
