AthleticoSpizz So what happened to the gentlemens agreement though? (it wasn't just Reading, but was cast accross the majority of league teams)

It was part of the customers charter and was removed from the charter at Reading about 5 years ago from memory.

londinium
Terminal Boardom
Barry the bird boggler And hoops, not holding my breath for either though.

Isn't there a FL regulation that says that the shirt numbers must be on a plain background? Therefore, little likelihood of complete hoops. I share your sentiments though.

I thought that was a Premier League stipulation.
I believe you are correct, However any shirt without a plain back will be mocked by the fans as the club not expecting promotion or that they plan to fleece us next season when we are promoted.

Seriously though, I would like to see proper hoops a colar and nothing but blue and white.... forget dashes of gold or outlined red, it has to be blue and white.

Any news on a shirt sponsor?

QPR have hoops all the way round.

What i don't understand is why we are having another new kit. I was under the impression you were only allowed to change kits once every two years?

There are no rules, in fact some teams change kit during the season - Newcastle in recent times having worn next seasons kit for the final few games of the prior season.

I think you have to keep you nominated colours all season though, so changing away kit from red to yellow for example mid season would require approval from the FA but changing from a red to red shirt wouldn't.

Reading did state that the intent was for designs to last 2 seasons unless sponsors changed, However Reading have historically released new kits as often as possible so expect one every season. My advice is only buy a shirt if you like it and can afford it, Your not compelled to buy one as it doesn't make you a better fan.... in fact if your wearing a shirt, then a new shirt makes you look like a newbie. So instead wear an old one, preferably from a time when we were crap.

I like this advice. It is rather wise.

Fwiw I bought my first kit for 11 years last year. I really like last year's kit I think it's a shame to change.

Everyone knows recessions are for not being able to pay council tax, water, gas and electricity bills. They have nothing to do with not paying for Sky and getting the latest club shirts.

That is really nice. Probably the nicest Reading shirt i've seen. Send it to the club.
