Why not have a plain panel for the players and hooped backs for the mongs who can't wait to spunk their £40? Having panels on the backs makes it easier for old gits like me to see the numbers from what will be my armchair next season - assuming that Reading will be on telly once or twice.

If I am correct, that panel is an reflective logo. It keeps the wearer visible in low light conditions.

Would look better without the shoulder panel, but never the less, make it white, and swap the blue hoops for white, and white for blue and that shirt's a winner.

Nope, I'm with you. If this rumour is to be believed, it'll be even worse than our last shirt.
This is the sign that is in the Megastore window which advertises the New Shirt Signing event, down at the Madjeski Stadium / Reading club shop, on July 9th of July 2010.
