Wouldn't look too much in to that. Notts Couty brought 6,000 and Leciester brought a few this season aswell.

RoyalBlue We are entitled to more than 7,000 (15% of capacity)if RFC decide to ask for that many.
Given that it's a televised game with a 4.45pm kick off on a Sunday, it's doubtful they will ask for that many due to the fear of having to pay for any unsold tickets.
If it's true that Man City season ticket holders have to be asked to move if the away club asks for more than 3,000 tickets , then I doubt RFC will get an opportunity to ask for more, over and above those that they request at the outset. I can't see Man City being keen to ask season ticket holders to move with just a couple of days notice!

Not sure what this means but this is what's on their website...
Please note Seasoncard holders in Level 3 of the Colin Bell and East Stands will need to relocate for this fixture. Reading fans will occupy the normal away section.
Manchester City FC
City of Manchester Stadium
Away Fans
Away fans are located in one side of the South Stand at one end of the ground, in both the upper and lower tiers, where up to 3,000 fans can be accommodated (4,500 for cup games). The view of the action is pretty impressive although the leg room is a little tight. The facilities are also pretty good with spacious concourses, large plasma flat television screens showing the game and a good selection of food on offer, including Jumbo Hot Dogs (£3.90), Burgers (£3), Chicken Burger (£3) a range of Pies (all at £2.40) including the Chicken Balti Pie (£2.20), plus Chips (£2).
Atmosphere within the stadium is a bit 'hit and miss' at times. I did hear though on my last visit one very good rendition of the Man City fans anthem 'Blue Moon'. My only real complaint was the lack of distance between the home and away supporters. Only a few seats and a row of stewards stood in-between the two sets of fans, which led to a lot of unpleasant baiting between the two. And of course it was always the away fans who were adjudged to be causing the problems by the stewards (although I'm sure that if I visited on another occasion I probably would have seen the same Man City fans baiting in the same manner) and this led a number of away fans on my visit being escorted out of the stadium. After the game has finished fans are kept apart immediately outside via a large fence which is erected by the Police, which seems to lead to a lot of exchanges of unpleasant abuse. Some away fans have suggested that it may be best to keep colours covered on making your way back to your transport. It is also worth noting that entrance to the stadium is gained by placing your ticket into an electronic reader, which normally causes confusion to some fans. Please note that you are likely to be searched by stewards at the turnstile entrance.

That Friday Feeling Why no ticket news RFC? Man City had ticket info the same night they went through.
I didn't expect tickets to be on sale this week, but a bit of advance notice wouldn't hurt.

Turns8 Maybe...just maybe...the club are waiting for the 'actual' tickets to arrive from Citeh...before releasing any details...so that they don't get inundated with loads of personal callers at the stadium, who then kick off when they can't take any tickets away with them...
As per normal, people seem to be able to find something negative to say about the club
