Royal Lady Well, maybe they could park this massive vehicle a bit further forward so that the back of it isn't jutting onto the pavement where we are all trying to get past, especially as it is parked directly in front of an exit from the East Stand. Also, if, just before the final whistle, there hasn't been a major incident requiring its services, perhaps they could move it.

But then again an incident could occur after the final whistle. No doubt the vehicle is on standby until full crowd dispersal has taken place.

Just parking it parallell to the stand would make it easier for fans leaving, parking it as pictured is the optimum position to cause maximum difficulty on the entire stadium site.

As someone who exits at Gate 7, this is really getting on my t*ts.

A couple of seasons ago it was there almost every game and caused a serious crush/bottleneck at every game.

Can't say i'm one for H&S generally.... but its F*CKING DANGEROUS. Sort it out reading.

Is it best to complain to STAR or directly to the club?

Even side on would cause some problems getting out of Gate 7

I'd complain directly to the club - I'm happy to add my name to any letter you may wish to send.

This was raised at a meeting of the Safety Advisory group about 18 months ago and it was agreed to be a problem - and a promise was made that the ambulance would park elsewhere so the problem wouldn't happen again.

That certainly stopped this happening for a while - looks like someone at the club or on the SAG has forgotten all about the problem this causes.

Not sure it'll get resolved as I'm not sure a supporters' Representative goes to SAG meetings any more, which is a tremendous shame it it is the case, after the length of time it took to get agreement that the supporters and other stadium users could be represented on the SAG.

Well, shirley, if enough supporters write in to complain, they'll have to take notice. Or they can just wait until someone is hurt as a result of the ambulance being there and pay the compensation.

You'd like to think so, yes. But will enough supporters complain? For many, having a whinge on a mesage- board is oftern the limit of their action. (Not a dig at anyone, BTW)

Well, I certainly shall be, I'd already decided that as I was being squashed past the ambulance!

I once complained about the police van that was parked outside the Southbank at EP, that had the same effect of potential crush hazard, following my letter it was removed. What is the point of moaning here, write to the club, Mr Booth and CC to JM with your concerns, add photo's as well if a hazard is identified and following that no action is taken, but an incident occurs, then the club could be liable for any resulting injuries, H&S gone mad I think they call it, or in this case common sense.

I wrote to the club about 10 years ago after Stoke fans caused serious problems by the buses after a game. Got a reply back from the club, copied to the football liaison officer stating what had gone wrong and what they were going to do to stop it happening again. Well worth doing.

Put a pathway in from the east stand to the Costco roundabout so everyone does not have to o walk round the ground that would sort it out.

I think you'll find that a number of us are intending to write to the club. As this is a discussion board, we're also discussing/moaning about it. Who'd have thought it eh?

Ambulance was back yesterday; thankfully not long wheel base version though so not quite as bad.

Yes, we commented on this. Stupid place to park. I am sure they could find a place opposite the road - rather than where a bulk of fans are trying to squeeze past.

Once again are you going to contact the club and ask for an explanation?

I'm a wheel chair user and I have to say the selfish way some people had parked their cars at the away end right across where the pavement slopes really pissed me off yesterday things were made even worse because where I nomally cross the road to go down the hill had a burger van blocking the slope in the pave ment thankfuly a steward very kindly helped my brother get my chair onto the road but I just wish people would be more considerate wherew they park.

Having that club shop the other side of the gate doesn't help the situation either.

I fully agree with this and is something I have mentioned on here before. It could be a longish slope so that there aren't the problems we had with the steps when the stadium was first opened and if it started near the STAR van then the east stand wouldn't have to walk all around trhe stadium with the problems that causes. It would also help with the dispersal of fans.
