You poor poor man, it's almost like the club care more about the corporate hospitality customers than the real fans

Silver Fox Do people who come from places other than Bracknell and Farnborough believe it's the club's responsibility to get them to the game?

No, but if the club told me that they were now running a bus from Uxbridge and it then didn't turn up I would be very p*ssed off too!

So your point is?

Yet more proof that living in the likes of Bracknell really is an awful, awful idea.

not really sure anybody should be pissed off with the club. they said they would run the bus, the bus company didn't send the bus.

be pissed off at stagecoach by all means, but I am not really sure what more Reading FootballClub could do.

club dont run th ebuses. stagecoach do. if reading tell em theres a game, and they forget to organise them, is that the clubs fault?

was it the clubs fault when a bus broke down on route once and failed to reach crowthorne, leaving me to drive in?

What we need is a tram system or monorail.

Read your initial point as being that people shouldn't expect the club to provide transport at all not that they were wrong to blame the club when it failed to turn up.

If you meant the latter, then no, I wouldn't blame the club the first time it happened but if there was a repeat I would question their choice of provider and why they hadn't beaten them up sufficiently after the first failing.

If I was at the club I would now be pressing the bus company to compensate those they let down in full + a bit more. Totally unacceptable. The bus companies make damn good money from these sort of contracts and they should pay the price when they fail to deliver as contracted.

The initial issue was people attempting to get out.

Not true Slammed.

I live here in sunny Bracknell. Had my mode of transport been unavailable I'd have been relieved to have more delightful time away from this god awful town and it's residents (I realise that technically includes me).

Bus from Newbury was operating, although it left the stadium about 5 mins after the game finished.

The club should subsidise the bus companies for the service really, they obviously don't make money out of it.

I thought they did - the traffic plan (brought in to get planning permission for the expansion) includes the provision of bus services to/from the ground. That's the 79 & P&R shuttles as well as the buses to satellite towns. Any shortfall is made up by the club, because there's virtually no way to run these at a profit when they sit empty for the best part of 2 hours out of 5.
