Judge Drenthe I think this is brilliant news for the club. Some of fans are still stuck in the 80's and 90's and think small. Since Anton took over, we have been creating partnerships all over the world to expand and advertise our brand. With that comes better sponsorship deals, more support, more advertising, everything. The club grows and so does our brand!

The fans need to catch up with the pace the club is developing. This is very exciting. It's baffling that some are finding things to moan about with this.

According to the OS we will advertise the MURUSSIA logo on the back of our shirts, I assume under the players number.

Associating with Galatasaray one of the biggest clubs in Europe = good (despite some negative connotations by certain people in this country). Establishing links with India, massive country with untapped potential = good move.

This one? I mean no one's expecting Ferrari but.

why pick holes in Murussia? they're a local F1 team, they're Russian so Anton gets to further develop our brand over there as well as getting our brand onto an F1 car every race. it's good for us and good for them. they might not be a top F1 team but that's not to say they wont become one of the top six in years to come, just as we hope to be a mid-table premier league club.

Force India were the worst team on the grid a few years ago. Now they are in the middle league of teams.

Ok just to recap, supportive of the idea of brand expansion. Bit sceptical about the fact the only time the world will see our latest association on screen is when the cars is being lifted off the track by a crane.

If we're displaying their logo, and they're displaying our logo, do we know if any money is actually changing hands in this?

Isn't it possibly just a case of two teams who are having trouble attracting sponsors agreeing to fill each other's blank space.

So while it's beneficial to both it might not be costing anything.

A it like two geeky 11-years olds with no mates agreeing to sponsor each other for the sponsored swim at school because no-one else will......

Maybe Max Chilton is the CAM we've all been looking for.

Plus we know Drenthe is able to drive at speed.

Rev Algenon Stickleback H It seems a little mystifying, as I can't see a single benefit to either party in this deal.

Marussia Boss 'We look forward to working with Anton Zingarevich and his team to achieve a fully integrated partnership and we are delighted to welcome representatives from the Royals to Silverstone today.'

RoyalBlue Cynical hat on:

A nice opportunity for some people at the club to enjoy some F1 Sponsors' Hospitality.

Odds on JM managing to get in camera shot today?

Odds on an inebriated JM to be escorted by security out of the pits more like.

Reading, relegated from the Premier League last season, also have a Russian owner in Anton Zingarevich. Formula One is scheduled to have its first Russian Grand Prix next year in Sochi.

Marussia said the partnership would see both promote the other through joint marketing initiatives (Reading FC logo on the cars, Marussia logo on the back of the Reading FC shirts), while also collaborating on fitness, nutrition and coaching programmes.

"This is a fantastic partnership which allows us to connect two global sporting brands," Reading chief executive Nigel Howe said. "We will be proud to see our badge displayed at some of the world's most iconic tracks."

Two other Formula One teams already have close ties to football clubs.

Swiss-based Sauber last year announced a partnership with Premier League title challengers Chelsea, who are owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

Murussia are one of the newest teams, and are trying to develop it's brand. Very rarely does a new team get anywhere near the top of the grid in the first 5 years.

Plus their logo is nice.

This is a good match.

winchester_royal You have to wonder, with a fanbase like this, why the club even bother sometimes...

Nothing this club does will please some of it's fanbase.
I say we voluntarily drop down a division or two and move to Palmer park, I mean who want's to be a globally recognised brand FFS
