As long as it doesn't replace Reading on the league table I don't mind.

Being a staunch Monarchist the Royals moniker pleases me. What some Ruskie does to try and better the brand to Johnny Foreigner is something I struggle to give a fuck about.

Platypuss Rugby LOLeague branding.

More like franchise branding. If an entity becomes known by something other than its geographical location it makes it so much easier to move it elsewhere at some point in the future.

Good article, within which this was linked

http://www.ambernectar.org/blog/2013/07 ... hink-105/#

Unrelated to the issue but still lolworthy

7. We’re grumpy. So let’s continue. £50 for Chelsea?! No-one wins prizes for originality by grouching about ludicrous ticket prices, so perhaps it’s worth looking at a bigger picture instead. At present, British sport is on perhaps its biggest high in recent memory. The glorious 2012 Olympics are still fresh in our memories, in tennis we have a reigning Wimbledon and US champion, two of golf’s majors are presently held by Brits, the last and next Tour de France winners are from these shores, the British & Irish Lions recently provided great happiness for eggchasing advocates, while the nation is about to be transfixed by the latest installment of the Ashes. And what is football’s counter-offer? Fifty pound tickets and Hull oxf*rd Tigers.

Having just heard Hull City are being rebranded Hull City Tigers. Would you like Reading FC to become Reading Royals?

Personally I like the Americanisation of our game.
