IN

There's normally a few RFC fans in the Sun on the Hill on Bennett's Hill before the Blues games. If you like your ale, head a bit further up Bennett's Hill to the Wellington, one of Camra's pubs of the year several times over. Or there's the Post Office Vaults at the top of New Street.

Trying to coordinate a few of my mates for some pre match beering, and are likely to be in one of those pubs mentioned.

debating whether to hit one of the 'spoons...The Briar Rose or the Square Peg seem to be top of the list at the moment.

Go to the Briar Rose out of the two, the Square Peg is a bit rough at the best of times, let alone on a Saturday. It is admittedly a bit more on route to the ground.

If you're after a good boozer more on route to the ground from the city centre, then you can do a lot worse than go to the Woodman (next to Millennium Point) or some of the pubs along Digbeth High Street.

Did the Briar Rose (packed) and the Anchor last time. The Anchor had a huge selection of real ales but was a pretty naff place and I always feel a bit uncomfortable in anywhere overly Irish. It did show footie though.

The Briar Rose is pretty good for atmosphere on matchdays, there's normally a good mix of Blues, Villa, WBA and various away teams in there.

Where's the main contingent of Reading fans going to be drinking pre-game?
