working class hero Apparently WBA are on the market for £30 million.

A club with a big fan base, and a solid tradition...

RTFC Drummer said : So how on earth can he put a price tag of £100 million when WBA are only valued at 30 million.

He hasn't recently. He did when we were a Premier League team. See my post 6 above this one!

But my point is that WBA are a PL side and are only priced at £30 million.

On a similarly financial theme Stockport have REDUCED ticket prices for STHs post promotion. What a refreshing idea!

I'm agreeing with you - club value is based upon future (PL) TV income. A club which the market doesn't have much confidence will be a permanent fixture in the PL has a much lower value.

I'm not surprised by Stockport - they are owned by their Supporters Trust, and not a rich man's plaything, so they put their supporters first. They also have sufficient capacity to allow them to do intellignet pricing like this.

That Friday Feeling Do West Brom have any debt?

Don't think so - but then again do we now? I'd be amazed if JM hasn't reclaimed what's he's put in out of PL monies.

I'm sure we don't have much debt to speak of, if any.

I was just wondering if it might be a reason for such a difference in our respective "value" even allowing for our fall from the prem. £30mil for a top flight side does seem a bargain.

Maybe it hust how serious the respective owners are about selling their club?

Yeah, it is - but will they be a top flight club next year - did they finish in the top half of the table the season before? Also, do they have lots of land in what is an extremely affluent area, with room for expansion, and do they have more successful competitors very close to them?

Compare and contrast a cramped site in Handsworth with a much bigger, premium, site next in the Thames Valley.

He brought the club for a pound
To build a beautiful ground
But when Reading went down
He no longer wanted to wear his crown
And just wanted to be a numpty who looked like a clown

And he wants to sell the club for 100 million pounds
Now how does that sound.
