My god. That is VERY poor. Less than 6,000.

Why didn't the club make it kids for a quid?

Another poor marketing exercise by the club.

As already stated...

Barney Attendances for the first couple of rounds of the Carling Cup are always pitiful,
and the entrance fee is pretty much set by the Football League (so unable to do
quid-a-kid or whatever).

Must do better WW!!

Couldn't be bothered to read the whole thread! The club could have done some other incentive, like a free drinks voucher with every ticket brought.....1 per person.

Free drink isn't a bad idea. Only practical problem is finding a way to ensure it works. Not like tickets are issued to most attendees. Some sort of hand stamp once you've redeemed your drink?

Probably more hassle than it's worth and depends on how the catering finances are set up. Not a great deal of added incentive to actually turn up either, just rewards those that do...

How about buy a league cup ticket vs Barnsley and get 25% off one of the next three home league fixtures? Or along those lines but buy a ticket get one half price...

I feel sorry for those who stayed away from the Burton game. At least I saw a few GOALS and a WIN at home.
Something to cheer in what looks increasingly like a Southampton type season!

How to lose money the deathy way!

Buy one ticket for £10 save £16+ on three tickets. Oh and STHers can get bent!

Or alternatively if they aren't intending to go to those games anyway.

Spend £10 to save £16+ by spending an additional ~£45

... Incidentally they WERE giving away free pies near the end of the match in the Upper West - so someone over-estimated the crowd!

PS No 'news' on the Tykes' CUP tickets yet - are they still mulling over how many bits of the ground to bother opening??

Barnsley kindly announced the details for their fans last week - basically the same as Burton.

I'm sure RFC will get around to it some time......

Seems to say it all really. Try reading the OS and you might just find the info you are searching for  . Facts before criticism, eh?!

... Yup! I read that on the OS days ago - (last Thursday actually) .
- announcing the the date of the match and the price on the OS, wasn't exactly a startling revelation was it - and hardly 'says it all' ?

.... but I wasn't being critical - obtuse maybe - verbose always! :P

- by 'news' I actually meant 'tickets being on sale' i.e. in the 'pre-reserved for ST' bit of 'online ticketing' etc and some indication as to how much of the ground might be open.

I assumed - as written above - that the club were still pondering, which was why the tickets aren't available yet!

D'oh! Silly me for expecting to find the information under the "ticket news" area of the RFC site, and instead have to read through to the THIRD page of the news. :|

Yep, no justification for the club being criticised there.

Hardly. Each person that bought a ticket for the League Cup game can save about £5 on a league ticket? Not much of a loss really, not if it gets more bums on seats for the cup game!

hmm, sorry, didn't see the one of bit.

Still, hardly going to be popular with the STHs. And still requires people who weren't going to go to one of those games to cough out £16 more just to save their £5

You don't think the club should put ticket information on the ticket information pages and instead rely on fans to hunt for it?

The fact that you choose to defend it says more about you than it does the club, sad to say.
