Cureton's Volley What a load of scummy gash.

£45 to look like a cúnt

Most of our fans manage that for free.

Platypuss Sorry kids, another year with no new shirt - that is fukcing orrible.

I have to agree. It's hideous.

It's like they got frustrated at not being allowed to ruin it with "artistic flourishes", so decide to make the blue hoops too thick, and look awkward at the top as well instead.

I'm just amazed people are actually paid to design things that dreadful.

Kes must be gutted.

He's spent months trying to design appalling kits, and never managed to come up with one that bad.

Dave-Royal 45 pounds For home shirt

We always say that but surely football shirt price inflation is quite low? Haven't replica tops always been £40 or so?

Always a hilarious read the kit thread.

Some people have miserable lives I guess.

I wish we'd release 2 a season for the laughs.

I wouldn't call an extra fiver on top of £40 quite low inflation!

12.5% increase across 10 - 15 years is far far below RPI in the same time. Hell, RPI was about 5.7% in just one year not that long ago. Maths has never been your strong point, has it.

Quite like them both tbh. The home kit looks modern but with a retro feel to it. A bit like the PL one from 2012-13, and I like it to have a bit of red on there.

Plus the away shirt is a more finished improvement of last seasons effort.

2rAy1 White socks. Having ''RFC' in the middle of them is odd :|

Having "OUFC" or "STFC" on them would be a lot worse.

You really are an utter **** aren't you. Mr pompous git personified. Always have to throw in an insult rather than just argue your point. Just what exactly do you know about my mathematical ability!

How long ago was inflation at that point? And which figure, from the several that our politicians like to switch between to suit their needs, are you relying on? I assume you are also aware that the headline inflation figures relate to a 'basket' of items and that there is a specific index for clothing. So what has clothing price inflation been running at? Are you really claiming that shirts were £40 ten to fifteen years ago?!

Finally, I was addressing the fact that there has been a big hike in shirt prices this time around and that £45 is a lot of money for a very cheaply producible walking advertisement, which will be out of date and selling for a tenner about eight month's after it is first available. And yes, I will be exercising my 'right' not to buy!

I'd wager you'd struggle to find any measure of inflation that shows a compounded rise of less than 12.5% over the last 5 years, let alone the last 10/15.

And when you consider the increase in cost of just about everything else involved with football (wages/transfers/agents/tickets etc) it puts the £5 rise in replica shirt prices into even greater perspective.

We all have enough sticks with which to beat the club at the minute, no need to start using twigs.

SPARTA - Why a side panel?
Probably cheaper to make side panels with than to have bigger front/backs, Plus they don't have to worry about the hoops not matching up when they sew it together

I like the shirt, I might buy it when it's £25 after Christmas.

Don't ST holders get a £5 or £10 voucher to spend in the megastore anyway?

IMO, only kids should be allowed to wear the latest shirt. Adults are allowed to wear a retro one or better still, not one.

First away shirt I've not liked for sometime. Totally unimpressed and no thought seems to have been given to it whatsoever.

The home shirt looks better than recent seasons, as with many though I hate those stupid red flashes on it. Why can't it just be kept simple blue and white?

Also agree with the earlier comment about the white hoops needing to be blue and the blue hoops needing to be white.

He didn't, I did.

Now I'll be clear I don't particularly give a shit, but for the sake of repetition, I just thought football shirts had always been around this price point. I certainly don't recall ever paying less than £30 for a shirt and I bought a lot of replica kits as a kid. I thought £40 was pretty standard.

It's a weird argument to me - with £35-50 you can buy yourself a decent item of clothing. But if you really want a replica shirt that much, why bemoan paying an extra fiver for it?
