Why would an away strip colour ever be purple?
The away strip would be worn to avoid colour clash with a home team, i.e. their blue shirts.
Purple against blue? No contrast.

We had a white kit, and white clashes more with white than blue does with purple. Plus our blue is lighter than usual possibly to increase the difference.

I suspect it'll be no harder to differentiate than last year's kits which were both shades of blue.

That white kit was hardly used. We had to have a third one.
Last season's was very dark in tone, hence the contrast. Purple is far closer to blue.

Right, well I can tell the difference between our lighter blue and a deep, rich purple quite easily as I'm sure most can plus I'm sure it'll be gaudy enough not to matter.
