Royal Lady
Row Z Royal What's the difference between £400 on 4th June and £400 on 28th April?

The whole month of May and a few days either side?

Okay, so what difference does that make to you buying your season ticket? Practical terms please, none of this principled moany stuff.

The club have been given a perfect opportunity to soften the blow with the suggestion of the deposit yet THEY are too far up their own arses to concede that they screwed up.

Sadly, you lot are left with the choice of pay up or shut up.

*sigh* more time to collect together the required amount to buy the season ticket?

Or the "renew & moan" or the "not renew & not moan" or the "not renew & moan"

Im going for the not renewing - not moaning option. Goto the matches I want to. If anything this "pay by xxxx or lose the right to your seat" has made my decision much, much easier

Now thats some value for money!

Especially this bit:

If you're happy stumping up a five-figure sum to watch the Posh but insist on getting decent value, the club have another alternative: the Lifetime ticket, a season ticket which lasts 75 years and can be passed on to a member of your family in the event of your death.

The price? A very reasonable-sounding £12,000, which works out at a fraction under seven quid per match for the 1,725 matches you could see. That's great value even in 2011 - so by 2086 it'll seem like you're going for free!

Assuming the same Peterborough company continues to exist for the next 75 years .......

You'd have to be mental to do that. A football club like Posh will piss £12k up the wall in a day or two. There's no guarantee they'll be in business in two years, let alone 75!

Svlad Cjelli I actually think it's quite possibly a cock-up - someone was told to introduce "early-bird" season tickets with an earlier renewal date but didn't understand this properly. An now it's happened they'll hopefully be looking for a way out, but the problem is that the more people who make a big song and dance about it only strengthens their resolve ... no one likes being made to look wrong in public or to climb down.

Not being prepared to admit you got things wrong can end up costing you far more dearly than perceived loss of face/pride, as the decision makers at the club are likely to find out later this year.

Conversely being big enough to admit you made a mistake and/or climbing down can bring tremendous benefits.

Pride comes before a fall!

That Friday Feeling Not much to complain about really.

Interest free instalment option, improved offers, free "young royals" for the kids (I've always resented the membership fee for STHs) and a price freeze to boot.

You already know what you get for your money on the pitch and we all have a pretty good idea of what's going to happen off the pitch in the summer.

Take it or leave it.

Actually the admin fee on interest free is equivalent to a ridiculously high annual interest rate

The admin fee is per application. FWIW I think that's a reasonable deal.

Club should pay that, whats admin got to do with a ticket buyer? As a ticket buyer I want to buy a ticket, how the club manage the admin is upto them and not my business, shouldn't be paying a penny for that.

If you wish to be sure of keeping your seat, you are compelled to renew by 28th April, before the end of this season and around 3 months before you can first use your purchase.

Whilst it is true that each season ticket holder can decide whether to leave it until later and risk having to get a different seat, this choice is compromised if you sit with friends or relatives as, unless you all renew by 28th April, you cannot be sure you will be able to sit together.

Many feel that this cut off date is excessively early as it is many weeks earlier than in other seasons. The annoyance at this decision has been exacerbated for many by the patronising nonsense the club has spouted when justifying it.

In a nutshell.

A minor correction on the second point

It's keeping the same seats reserved that's the issue - you'd almost certainly be able to get alternative seats elsewhere that were together at any time up to the start of the season - they'd probably not be so good, though.

True, but many would be reluctant to force their friends/relatives hand by choosing not renew.

Agreed. And many people have an emotional attachment to their seat.
