I don't like the arty 'distressed' hoops and the fact they don't carry on round the back but it could be worse.

It's almost as though they're jumping onto the 'street art' bandwagon like a lot of the 2012 Olympics imagery.

The away kit is inoffensive and quite solid so can't fault that.

It's a shame Puma couldn't have done like this year's Umbro kits or something along the lines of the new Arsenal kit and gone for a more simple 70's looking design. The purple goalkeeper's kit looks like something a Japanese cartoon character would wear.

Perhaps it's just the photos, but the the blue on the shirt is different to the blue on the shorts, which in turn is different to the socks, no?

I don't mind the shirt....i bet the 'keepers are thrilled with their kit!

It's without a doubt the worst looking kit in my memory. The away isn't too bad, different. The home and goalkeepers kits are absolutely wretched. I am amazed they agreed to have this kit!

SymonsO May eb a very stupid but is it just very bad image quality or are there really white "scratch" marks in the blue stripes? Its strange as it appears in all the pictures on the official site too.

Yeh there is those markings on it. The look is almost to suggest as if the blue has been painted or graffiti'd within the black outlines.

Also it does seem as if the blue on the shirt and socks is the same but the blue on the shorts is slightly lighter

The New Kit

by sawyers left arm » 09 Jul 2010 10:55

Where have all the threads gone, this really is changing for changing sake, the new kit is awful.
Problem is there are plenty of mugs out there that buy the shirts year on year, good luck but I won't be ripped off with this unfinished article.

Totally agree.

I don't mind the away kit, even if it does look like we nicked from Southampton, but the other shirts are just far too busy. They've tried too hard to make it look different which always makes it look non-league and micky mouse to me.

I don't get what's wrong with a nice plan, simple, classy, and strong design (like the one photoshopped earlier in the thread). I guess the answer is that in some marketing manual somewhere it says the kit has to be funky and different to appeal to the most spases likely to buy it because it looks different to the last one.

I do like the socks though.

Who are them ugly kants modelling the kit?

I like that the blue home socks don't match the rest of the kit.

Have RFC ever consulted fans over a kit design? I can't recall it ever happening.

I know that other clubs have sometimes given the fans 3 or 4 options and asked them to choose.

Given the amount of negative comments, pretty much every time we change kits, it might be worth STAR raising this question at some stage.

that wont happen mate

they're too busy picking up their free passes to bar 1871 and awarding themselves shiny new enamel badges just for being so gr8.

STAR - have never actually done anything for regular supporters. FACTS.

Geekins Where's Kitson12 now?

I'm here, and I apologise for bating whoever I did about it being a wind up.
Anyway, I think it actually looks ok on the players when compared to just seeing the shirts on their own. I even the goalie kit is quite nice.

You really are an idiot. They give the opportunity for people who can't or don't want to drive/pay through the nose for public transport to go to away games.

one minute Why can't we have an individual kit? How hard/expensive would it be for Puma to design an individual kit for a club and not have a generic just changed colours?

next minute They've tried too hard to make it look different which always makes it look non-league.

For what it's worth, I quite like it. Would have prefered a 70's style route of minimal design, but i don't mind this one at all.

And, you don't like it, don't buy it! Nobody's forcing anybody else into purchases.
