I'll often stick up for Fuller's pubs but I'd honestly give that one a miss RL.

Whilst it's a lovely premises, I think it just suffers from being in the wrong location. It gets a mixture of tourists, people from the provinces (typically Kent or Sussex dwellers who've just wondered in from London Bridge) and suits. And now it seems, football fans. Also no silver foxo but it's also very expensive. All that, coupled with the fact you have so many decent choices for boozers in and around the London Bridge area just makes it a non starter for me.

Mug House
Market Porter
The George (the HNA deb8 will continue but I like it in spite of the Greene (sic) King beer)
Royal Oak

I could go on.

Where is Market Porter - I've heard of that - and don't we normally go also go to Hornie Man or whatever it's called for Millwall games? :|

Market Porter is next door to Borough Market, 5 min walk tops from LDN Bridge. The Hornyman at Hays Galleria is a similar distance away, never seen football fans (well, shirters) in there before though

Don't know the Hornyman, 2 pints out of 5 on FAP which sounds about what I'd have expected.

We're not shirters. Yeah, went there and saw Floyd etc couple of years ago - been in there a fair few times before/after a London game.

Market Porter - is that the tiny pub?

No - that's The Rake on the edge of Borough market and southwark cathedral. Lovely craft beer bar, but often expensive. Market Porter is on the corner of Park St and Stoney St, opposite one of the main market entrances. Wheatsheaf is in the market, Globe and George very near by. Brew Wharf and Wine Wharf are on Stoney St as well, also poss worth a look

We were planning Shipwright then a mini pub crawl through Market Porter, George Inn and Barrow Boy after the game, will swap a pub for before the game if more fans head there.

I was in there before the last away game at Millwall, it was pretty quiet in there to be honest. A few Reading fans, but mainly Utd fans watching tv.

I asked Spacey where he'd be drinking before and after this game "Isle of Dogs" he replied. "we know that" I said, "but where are you drinking before and after the game?"

I've been in there loads of times. Starting to doubt your credentials as HNA's self-appointed authority on London pubs :!:

The Horniman is massive, just next to Belfast, and rather soulless. You can sit by the river on a sunny day though and gaze into the murky depths, such as they are.

I like the Mughouse and would take the missus there for a drink but it's not one for the pre-football crowd at all and is very expensive.

Shipwrights is a str8forward single room boozer with the bar in the middle of the room and drinking space around it. Smelt a bit off the last time I was in there but it would be fine for football fans, think it shows sport as well so that's a bonus if you're off to the match.

Think we went to the Southwark Tavern the last time we went to Millwall, which was fine and had the added bonus of a muddyfeet spotted.

The George - only on a sunny day. But as Green says, this is ground that's been well covered before.

Au contraire. I think the fact that Green has intuitively known that it's rubbish without going there shows just how firm his grasp of London pubs is.
