Driving up to West Brom and train from there so we can get out quicker. Shants in the Vine.

Do pubs in the city centre really not let in any away fans?

If so I'm start practicing my yam yamming.

Stonehouse bar on queen street seems to be only place to drink for away fans in city centre

Just don't label yourself as an away fan then.

If you're old enough to be legally drinking in a pub you shouldn't be wearing "colours" anyway.

Probably badly phrased - you need a home end ticket to get in any pub or be able to yam like the locals.

Certainly that's what they say about the 'spoons. The Walkabout has been away only (ticket please) before but doesn't appear to be now.

Yeah, a few years ago (when we beat them 3-0 - great day), I went, and they wouldn't let me in a pub in town. The bouncer asked if I was going to the game today (I foolishly said yes), and he turned me away when I showed him my Reading end ticket. :(

Going for lunch and a few pints beforehand in the Weatherspoons (I know, classy) before hand, but will be with a Wolves fan (I know, classy) so I'm hoping to get in there. Fingers crossed.

The Goalpost mentioned on page 2 is apparently closed down so you may struggle with that one.

Gotcha.

You'll find somewhere though, I guarantee it. Might just have to walk a bit further away from the ground.

Think most of the pubs around the ground are shut these days. A lot of the pubs there are also frequented by Wolves' usual ignorant pikey fans - away fans are just a minor irritant to their supreme existence most times I've visited.

There is one good old fashioned atmospheric type pub behind the station called The Great Western. It's across from the old Wolverhampton Lower Level station (that you can see down below- of course, when the train arrives at the current station).

Think I've been in there before. 2003 was an experience, you were easily caught out if you didn't have the accent and the result didn't help matters.

The Walkabout (Stone House) was closed when we got there so I manage to yam my way into the George Wallis, I;d forgotten about the West Midlands propensity to wear home shirts.

Yam or rite.

Got into the Stonehouse around 12, no decent beer, and it's closing down, will have to find somewhere else for next time!

Got up there at 11.15 via Worcester in the end, pre match drinks in the Billy Wright. Door staff turned up at midday. Interesting listening to their lot in there, apparently if we were turning up to play football we'd be done over. How'd that one work for you then eh chaps?
