You can rest easy in future now that stewards have implemented a policy of banning umbrellas at point of east stand entry and requesting you leave them against the perimeter fence for collection at half-time. One brain cell between the five at the door were too powerful to beat my logical argument and power of persuasion.

LOL - My brother got told he had to walk around to the reception (from east stand) and leave it there. I got mine in, but it was (half) in my back pocket. Got searched but he failed to check my back pockets :? good search there. But upon getting into the east stand it was apparent that if you looked like you were going to use your umbrella like a woman would, then they would take it off you. However if you looked below 12 and over 40 it was fine to have a brolly.

I think that an official RFC policy is required on the subject, can anyone advise?

Mrs Butler no problems.. just a lady had slipped over.. was in heels  .. was laying on floor surrounded by stewards in front of buses..

Get your facts right! The lady that fell over had a epilectic fit and did not fall over because she had heels on. The police horses did a very good job in protecting her and at least two doctors stopped to help.

was definately not someone falling over because they had stupid shoes on.......

It's not just the stewarding at Y24/25/26 thats awful. I'ts just as bad in B18,we can't stand up for more than 5 minutes without being warned that we will be kicked out, even though we are top row.

Cnts the lot of them. They allow us to stand at half time or before the game, but not during it

The bespectacled steward in Y24 who looked about 80 kept shouting out to someone sat towards the back of the stand, "sit down, sit down" - he obviously didn't have the legs to actually walk up to him.

Oh blimey. Gesticulating to Arsenal fans this time were you? You're a cancer to the stand that I love.

ermmm i just wanted to point out.. i noticed how discriminating the club actually is..

Myself and a friend walked around the whole stadium on sunday before game, noticed how many people were being hand searched... bags checked e.t.c

I had a bottle of perfume and a body spray on me, so was panicking having them taken of me as my favourite.. got round to Upper West enterance and not one single steward in site...

Now i know the seats are slightly more expensive and are higher up... but to single us out from everyone else is slightly out of order..

Also, why aren't you allowed to bring bottles with lids on into the stadium, I had two bottles of lucozade with me on sunday and the steward checking my bag to both the lids of which meant I had to drink them straight away.

They do this at alot of stadiums, it's to stop people using a bottle cap (of all things) as a missile.

My local West Stand steward was terrible on Sunday, couldn't even get the gate thing hooked on properly. I felt like going down and fixing it on myself as it was irritating me.

But surely the actual bottle will be worse. And at half time you can buy bottles with lids on from the places which sell Chips anyway.
