The UK’s leading independent car and van leasing specialists have pledged their support to their local club by committing to a new three-year front-of-shirt sponsorship deal which will begin with our 150th anniversary campaign in 2021-22!
A key element in the club’s ongoing commercial strategy and a fundamental objective set out in our plans to celebrate 150 years of Reading Football Club has been to strengthen the bond between our club and businesses based in the local area, building relationships with local enterprise and Berkshire-based industry leaders.
So, having grown locally since their inception in 2004 and now employing more than 250 people at their head office in the Green Park complex as well as across offices spread throughout the UK, Select Car Leasing are quite simply the perfect fit.
As part of this new long-term partnership, Select Car Leasing will see their branding emblazoned on the front of our first team and Academy shirts for the next three campaigns, featuring on all replica adult and junior kit as well as the club’s official training wear until 2024.
Supporters can also expect to see Select Car Leasing branding feature on our social media channels, run along the LED boards surrounding the perimeter of the pitch and promoted across our stadium when fans return to cheer on their team this season.
Having partnered with the club since 2015, Select will also demonstrate their renewed commitment to their local side by donating match tickets to local grassroots clubs for every single home match throughout the next three seasons and have also agreed to give money back to the club’s Academy programme when any Royals fan leases a car from the company.
Directors of Select Car Leasing, James O’Malley and Mark Tongue, are both lifelong supporters and current Season Ticket Holders at the club. “As a local company we’ve been in partnership with Reading Football Club for nearly six years now but, as fans ourselves, it’s long been an ambition and a dream of ours to have much greater involvement with the club as well as supporting the local community,” Tongue said.
“So we’re absolutely delighted to announce this new chapter in our relationship with Reading ahead of its 150th anniversary season and consider it a commitment not only to our club but also to the town of Reading and its people.”

Scutterbucketz Someone I know works for Select Car Leasing. When Covid hit they immediately put the vast majority of their staff (30+ people) on government paid furlough and continued with a skeleton crew, meaning she was was made to do the work of 12 people.
Nice to see they now have the money to sponsor Reading just over a year later.

Bit harsh. It's not like people would have been queueing up to lease a car during lockdown. They would have took a huge hit.
