Compo's Hat Svlad Cjelli Football League Rule 31.2.1 states that each club must provide tickets for
2,000 visiting supporters or such number as represents 10% of the club's certified capacity, if lower than 2,000.
Why would any club voluntarily provide more tickets than they have to - unless they weren't confident of selling the spare capacity to their own supporters?
I refer you to the Burnley game. LOL at RFC selling South stand tickets when we've only needed it once when the club did kid for a quid, i expect plenty of empty seats the TV cameras won't show in the Upper West.
I presume the club think we haven't got a chance of finishing 4th looking at the away ticket selling details
But that was quite different - we'd failed miserably to qualify for automatic promotion, not won at home for 4 months, and everyone was on a real downer. This year the whole feeling around the club and the supporters is quite different, so I think they'll have no trouble selling at least the majority of the stand.
In any case, we don't stand to lose - the ticket sales from all 5 play-off matches are pooled and shared 4 ways (*), so any unsold capacity has much less of a financial hit on us. But I do think they'll sell this one without any great trouble.
(*) Not checked this is still the formula but it was definitely like that a few years ago.
