Out of interest, how did the season ticket process pan out in 2008 when we went down last time? Did they try and put tickets up for sale for £500+ early on?

I've only been a ticket holder since 2010-2011 so am used to the early requests for renewal.

Elazarus If you're a season ticket holder, how does selling games on Viagogo work? Do they remove the game from your card and sell it as a paper ticket then?

Yup.

From memory they droped the price down to Championship prices, there were no early offers. But expect one soon if we get stuffed Saturday.

Stuka I can only go to about half the games but if S/T is less than £350 I might buy one and sell/give away the ones I can't make.

Go to half the games and stick the other half on Viagogo, and it pays for your season ticket.

The boy and I are in France this weekend it visit family, and we've sold our Villa tickets for £55 each. That goes straight into the pot for our renewals.

You'll only make money on Viagogo for matches that sell out where there are people wanting to buy tickets. Much less likely in the Championship.

Is that your opinion or experience? I've profited each time I've sold my tickets.

It's surely a self-evident statement? If there isn't enough demand for a game then there won't be buyers through Viagogo.

And when matches aren't sold out there is much less likely to be demand for tickets because people can get them more cheaply from the ticket office.

I will be pissed off if we have to renew before knowing if we will have to put with McDermott or not.

Happy with either I suppose. Kids should remain at £99 though.

So i'm going to predict . . .

Poyet to be announced as manager tomorrow.

Season ticket renewals announced on Monday - price £425 for adults. Deadline of 26th April in order to keep seat.

Tickets go back on sale 1st June at £449.

That depends though. if I can't attend a match there is nothing stopping me listing my ticket for less than the ticket office price. It wouldn't bother me if it below face value as something in my back pocket is better than nothing.

As it is I have only used the service once and I sold my Chelsea tickets for face value.

£425 for Championship tickets is toooooo much-£325 to £350 for renewals is about right-if they come in at around that level and bring in Poyet (or better)-I will renew.

If I remember correctly, my first season ticket for the 2010-11 season was £395.

You can't do that though. The minimum you can list on viagogo is face value and they then add there bit onto it. Nobody would ever buy in that situation unless it is sold out.

I understand if you are price sensitive but it is pLOLstic to base your renewal on what manager we have. What if Dolan stays and turns out to be a genius?

You're not going to see a massive cut in ticket prices like that. My season ticket was £395 for this season, and when I purchased it, we were more likely to be a Championship club again this season. If I get next seasons at the same price, and we get four more home games for that don't forget, then I'll be more than happy. Hopefully childrens renewals will be around £99 again, which encourages young bums on seats at great value.

Without a permanent manager in place, they may struggle to sell as many STs as they are hoping imo.

I seem to remember complaining that they were asking for our money well before the end of the previous season last season. Why don't they just have the same time every season for announcing ST renewal prices - I KNOW they're not sure which division they might be in, but that's the chance they (and we) have to take. I don't like all this chopping and changing. It was always the end of the season in previous years - I'm sure. So why not just keep to that. Announce new ST prices at end of May or whatever - then we all know where we stand.
