I have been down to the ticket office this morning to buy 3 tickets for the seated area. They are selling from the front backwards and I have tickets in row 'C' numbers 002,003 and 004. This looks like it's going to be in the corner. Now as I am buying today this means that all 3 of us have a good number of Royalty Points and I can see anyone with only a few points getting tickets further up the stand and therefore a "better" seat. How can this be right as we have all been supporters of the club for many years. The chap in the ticket office said he could only sell tickets in the order stipulated by the away club. There was no option to get any further up the stand.

Perhaps I should have taken a chance and waited until later, but faced the possibility of not getting seats? :!:

This is serious point for those who have supported the club over many years. :o

It's the same for all away games, we got row I for Bolton even after requesting tickets further back.

What's the issue?

Yeovil have said how the tickets are to be sold so the club are following those instructions - FL regulations means they can't do anything else.

Looking forward to this one. I presume the famous slope from their old ground hasn't been replicated at the new Huish. Used to be amusing watching teams struggle there years ago when the tv showed some of their FA Cup action.

If you want the perfect seat, don't go to away games. Modern day fans will moan about anything. What happened to the days where you just turned up on the day and took your chance where you would be sitting or standing. Most modern day fans want to be wrapped in cotton wool and not have any obstructions or people standing now and again getting in their way. Just embrace being lower down and seeing a game from a different angle.

Not been to many away games then as this has always been the case with ticket sales for away games.

The problem is that a lot of supporters may prefer being towards the front of the stand, and may consider it being the better place - i.e. better views and closer to the action.

It's a preference exercise. Unless the club allowed you to pick seats (like at home games), or alternatively just had unreserved (which I would prefer), we're a bit stuck.

We are not talking East Stand Madejski Stadium here. It is not much further back when you are in the very back row than if you are in the front. The whole stadium only just about matches the East Stand for capacity. We are going back to the roots for this game.

Surprisngly, I actually agree. What does it matter where your seat is in the stand? You may prefer to sit at the back, but that's not how away games work, they never have. To moan about it is the oddest thing.

If you wanted to sit towards the back because that's where your normall sit, I agree with NFA, embrace the different seat and enjoy the different angle you will get from sitting there.

But when you buy online your ticket isnt allocated straight away, it's allocated when they get round to posting it.

True but mine was posted Wednesday and arrived yesterday the same day that he was told that they cold not sell beyond row C. Maybe they sell from the front to personal callers and from the back to on line but whatever system they use it cannot be true that they were selling from the front on the instructions of Yeovil.

Train tickets seem to be around £45 return for this, unless you get on a stupidly late train back and save about £10. May have to get GF to drive for this one!

Got two terraced tickets for this, think it might be my first competitive terraced game, but a lot of away games are generally standing up anyway.

As for the person complaining about getting front row tickets, I sympathise.
We will never make the mistake of accepting front row tickets again after the debacle of Birmingham away, the last game of our last Champ season.
Thank oxf*rd the game meant oxf*rd all, otherwise I might have punched one of the many stewards that stood blocking our whole view, literally every time anything of interest occurred (in case we invaded the pitch or somesuch nonsense).

Repeated shouts of "Get out the oxf*rd way!" were ignored as we stepped up to take a penalty, barely 20 yards away from me and I had the worst view in the ground.

You almost certainly did not have the worst view in the ground, we were front row behind the goal post.

I was also right behind the goal, maybe even behind the other goal post  (can't quite remember).
Anyway, you can't have been more than 8 seats away from me.
