Dirk Gently
Barney Just can not understand why Palace taking more to Villa than us taking to WBA is embarrassing ???

Home average league gates over last few seasons..

05/06 - Reading 20,200 Palace 19,500
06/07 - Reading 23,800 Palace 17,500
07/08 - Reading 23,600 Palace 16,000
08/09 - Reading 19,900 Palace 15,200
09/10 - Reading 17,000 Palace 15,200 (season to date)

I couldn't give a flying one about Palace.

Who cares?

Perhaps it's all about them being away to a high-flying PL team and us being away to a team in the same league. Perhaps it's all about them being away at one of the most memorable grounds in the country and us being at the Hawthorns. Perhaps it's all about us having played far more cup ties (and league matches) against PL teams then they have over the past few years. Perhaps it's about them realising that their club, financially, is in the mire so this might have motivated them more.

Villa Park is a big day out.
The Hawthorns isn't.

Besides, if we were taking 3000 no doubt there'd still be people moaning, but about our support being plastic instead.

Excellent point, well made.

When we take three men and a dog, it's embarrassing cos of lack of numbers.

When we take the whole town, it's embarrassing cos its just day-trippers, flask-carriers and plastic Johnny-just-starteds.

Views always expressed by the same people, who clearly are well-balanced in that they have huge chips on each shoulder depending on which circumstance it is.

Who cares tbh, games aren't won in the stands. We could have no one there and I'd still be happy if we won.
