Friday's Legacy we bought our season tickets last week. i've gone to book our seats for leicester and it wants to charge me £25 for a ticket instead of the usual £23.

what's going on with that?

also it says "paper ticket"

my profile says: ST11/12

i think they've ballsed up our members cards for this season! i'll call them monday morning but i'm not happy.

You are right to contact the ticket office as STAR was told that they need to cancel your existing membercard if you want a new ST and this may be an unexepcted consequence - but one that human intervention can put right.

I had the same.

Basically once you buy a ST your account is upgraded making your Members Card closed. You now have to buy tickets over the phone or in person until the summer when your ST becomes live.

SLAMMED You forget that some people on this board have thousands of pounds of disposal income every month.

Did Graham rush Anton's membership through then?

what an utter shambles!

so it seems as mentioned, if you, like me, buy your season tickets during this season, your member card becomes void. so from here on in it's paper tickets and having to buy tickets by phone and/or at the ticket office.

also, and lucky for me i called them back, my portsmouth tickets which were booked before i bought the new season tickets also would not have worked on the member card, so they are now sending me paper tickets for them as well - but only because i rang back to check, and not because they were aware of them.

what a mess. if they don't send out the new season tickets until july, why can't their system maintain the member cards until the last fixture is played? and why not let people know that the deactivation of their member cards will happen if they buy a season ticket?

i don't mind the hassle of sorting out the paper tickets for tickets that were already bought on the now defunct member card, but had i not noticed this now, i would have turned up to the portsmouth game with my member card and then been refused entry, and it should never get to that stage!

Hopefully the club will sort the issues out concerning membership numbers and this has not voided the card at the turnstiles.

starliaison it is in the OP - from next season ticket priority will be ST first and then Royalty points so if there is high demand non-ST may not get a look in unless they have an away ST.

OS Ticket priority for high demand away matches. From next season, both season ticket status and number of Royalty Points will be used as criteria for key away games. Season ticket holders are being rewarded with the highest possible priority, in conjunction with their Royalty Points, as opposed to Royalty Points being the sole criteria used.

I'm surprised that more hasn't been made of this.

Say we do go up to the Premier League next season. If you are NOT a season ticket holder, under this system you can forget about trips to Stamford Bridge, the Emirates, White Hart Lane, Old Trafford etc. because based on our last Premier League season those will sell out, but now not based on Royalty points, but on ST holders first.

So someone who has been attending regularly for years will be lower down the pecking order than a new ST holder who may just be a glory-hunting supporter of another club who happens to live in Reading and may never even have been to ANY games before.

Discuss.

To be honest I don't even think we have the demand for away games anymore. Most games last season reached general sale with the exception of Stevanage which had a 1,400 allocation and was a new ground for many while Man City sold it doubly quick with the help of laying on free coaches. This season every away gane has gone straight on general sale and we are yet to sell out an allocation (this might change with West Ham coming up). I'm sure the novelty factor (and cost) will have worn out and should be straightforward enough for everyone to buy if they wish to attend.

Agreed it sounds unfair. I've had ST's in the past and just got another, so luckily for me I don't have to care about this, and the less said about it the better. . .

I'm looking forward to having priority bookings for Forest, Cardiff and Wolves next season.

The club feel more willing to reward those who have stumped up a lump sum to them? If the away season ticket is available again next year get one of those if you don't want a home one

I've been quite critical of the use of Royalty points and the treatment of STHs in the past.

I'm not a fan of having to renew so early and I still don't think it has any bearing on the renewal rate (form and price are the key determining factors from what I can tell) but now the club have made the shift to these early deals I think they're hear to stay.

I said my bit on it last year (directly to the club as well as on here) so not going to go into it all again.

by the same token , in the previous system a fan who used to go alot and ammassed alot of points, but never really goes any more would be ahead of someone who is currently spending alot of money on the club

Yes, I see that. I just wish they'd done something like making points expire after a season or two, rather than just a straight switch to rewarding those who are prepared to stump up £350 up front next season, even if they're "new" fans.
