Terminal Boardom Well, they played the anthem AND Terry and June. Response from Reading fans? A BIG FAT ZERO.
The club listened and you did nothing! What more do you want? A thai prostitute giving you non-stop head for the entire 90 minutes???

Stranded Fair enough - no-ones saying this campaign will have any effect or indeed whether the majority want it back but I don't think one wet Tuesday in December is a barometer one way or the other.

LoyalRoyalFan I noticed that as well. Why not play it as the players are coming out?

The campaign obviously had an effect - on the club as they listened. Shame the apathetic supporters didn't. At least we didn't have any screaming 8 year olds.

True, but the apathy means it needs to continue to be played to get some sort of reaction...possibly...

Row Z Royal Sweet Caroline had all the hallmarks of an anthem in making and they played it twice before cutting it from the playlist. What good is that?
Football days are built on routine. If a song's going to catch on among the masses, it needs to be inserted into that routine.

brendywendy surely it doesnt take much organisation to play all the songs of the past- the anthem, sweet caroline, ashes, lord of the rings from the old prem video all in a row, leading up to the players coming out
got to be better than random r&b tunes of today

glass half full I believe that Sweet Caroline was the idea of one of the 2005-6 team (or maybe SC?) and it has very happy associations. It would be great to re-adopt that song and - even better - invite Neil Diamond to the MadStad to sing it......
