rob the royal
Turns8 I bet the club actually took 3000 tickets off of Citeh....200 going to players families etc!!! :o

That should stoke the fire up nicely to get this thread upto 50 pages...

But the question is... do we have enough "web-space allocation" for 50 pages...

And unLOLucky Turns, but in the bit I cut and pasted from the FA website, it clearly says clubs get 50 tickets for themselves.

The same bit that says clubs are entitled to a 15% allocation or whatevs...

Brentford and Peterborough. No disrespect but we have a better equiped ticket office than them. Much bigger fanbase and proper membership in place.

I'll have a think in regards to banner slogan, I'm sure we can think of something. Maybe email ESPN in advance and tell them what it means, might get a couple of seconds coverage.

I sincerely hope those of us loyal enough to venture to Man City at a week's notice on a Sunday afternoon get priority over the plastics when we get to Wembley.

Shambles if not.

Soooo... anyone going in the home end? Any one got any ideas of pricing/if registration is needed/if they will be on general sale at the ground on Sunday/where to sit and avoid getting my head kicking in?

Just for the record, does anyone actually know what the demand for these tickets is, or is it all assumptions or anecdotal.

It seems clear that there'll be greater demand than 2,800, but just how much extra demand? Double that? Or just an extra 10-20%?

It'll be done a points basis again. It's how the ticketing works - the allocation is unfair but the way of selling is not - the loyal fans get priority above the (not saying you are at all) people who jump on a FA Cup bandwagon.

Plus we'd have approx 30,000 tickets for Wembley meaning i'm sure if you've ever bought a RFC season ticket you'll be able to get one no problem!

Apparently, the Royalty points is going to be abolished after this debacle...For any future matches with 'allocation' issues, fans will simply have to write in to SJM and in no more than 100 words explain how 'loyal' they are compared to the next fan..and why they deserve tickets...apparently, using the phrase 'the world owes me something' will get you a long way...

Going by this thread, I'd say demand is more like 8000 - 10000, however, back in the real world...those unlucky not to get a ticket will probably be under 250...

I already have trains and hotel so am watching this game somehow!

1 - to buy - register online, u get a number and a password - you can now buy several tickets. You wil lget a card through the post and paper tickets for extras.
2 - the only tickets left are opposite us in the north stand. However City will open one of the top tiers soon given that they've nearly sold out in only 1 and a half days.

I'm going to wait and see tonight and if unlucky then I will book in the City end. I suggest we all aim for the 3rd tier end nearest our own support. If theres any trouble then the police and man city are responsible having decided not to allocate us this bit anyway.

its not sold out yet but there will be more than 1000 people trying to buy the < 1,000 remaining at midnight.

Royalty points - if you jsut get a sensible number of tickets,

HOW ON EARTH did they think they wouldn't shift 5,000 for this game? And ratehr than pay for coach travel, pay for unsold tickets!

On the subject of Royalty Points, would it be worth scrapping points that were accrued over 5 years ago?

No way of knowing at this stage - but it does give people a chance to be righteously indignant, of course (which is one of the main raison d'etres of messageboards).

They may be right to be so outraged, they may not - time may well tell.....

Had pretty much this same conversation with Dr H earlier today.
If it was on at a more convenient time, I think we would definitely sell out. But its on telly on a Sunday evening, so I'm not convinced.

I'm not sure how we'll ever know how many people would have liked a ticket that ends up disappointed come tomorrow morning. :|

Spoke to someone today who said they were going to ring up tomorrow to get their ticket as they're in the 1599 down to 600 bracket - I advised him to stay up until midnight and get them online, to have any chance. He had no idea that we wouldn't get any more if these sold out - if people aren't on hobnob, how else do they know about the debacle? It's hardly being publicised!

I don't think we should judge all Reading fans by us on here!

The club have created more of a panic for tickets by taking ages to put them on sale (and obviously the coaches), but I will be suprised if we sell out before they go on general sale.
