Skyline Don't the TO normally only report the numbers of home-end tickets sold in the stuff they put on the website? In which case it's actually 20k home seats sold. Not bad for a cup replay.

Be interesting to see if Spurs have taken up their whole allocation (which'll be the whole of the South Stand IIRC).

Not bad? Take away the whole of the South Stand and 20k is all there is to sell to home supporters.

OS now saying that the "crowd" will be in excess of 21000, so the 20,000 figure quoted earlier wasn't just the home-end tickets - it was the total.

Spurs site says all tickets sold, assume 4k there then, and it is one good crowd for the reserves.

Home game against one of the biggest sides in the country, reduced prices, not on TV, away side has the entire away end - and we were about 2,000 short of selling out.

People, draw your own conclusions.

Our league attendances this season. Sorry Schards, I was in your camp at the start of the season, but I can admit that as the season has panned out, any concerns about our ability to continue to attract home fans are evaporated. 5 of the last 6 have sold out.

Of course the counter is,

Additional game for the 18,000 season ticket holders to have to fork out for in the middle of January when people's budgets are stretched having been paid before Xmas and still a week or so away from being paid.

Was certainly the reason I didn't attend.

 You really are making me laugh now. 2000 seats left and you're saying there is simply no demand? If we had 38,000 stadium there's no way we would be selling out, but I suspect there would have been more than 24,000 there. It's just the way it works. If there is a guarantee that there will be tickets available and people don't have to worry about none available then there will be more just turning up on the day. The fact is that last night without checking this lovely site or the OS then you wouldn't be sure if there were any available. And even if you did check the site and were told that 20,000 had been sold, you still wouldn't be sure if that meant there were any available as this thread shows.

I fully expect you to continue with your blinkered argument though, so go ahead. You will be venting your spleen to yourself though.

To add to what others have said, the fact it was an FA Cup replay on a school night would have kept a lot of folks from taking their kids along, what with the possibilities of extra time and penalties. That's going to cut down on your potential market right there.

Unlike the Man Utd replay last year, there aren't hoards of kids who 'support' Spurs in the same way that there are for Man Utd, so you don't have the same level of pester power from the child wanting to see his or her heroes.

One thing not on point, but last night loads of people were leaving where there was still 5 minutes to go. Now while I find it slightly annoying in a league match that this happens, last night baffled me. We were only 1 goal down and actually on the up at that point and looked like we might nick a goal. If we had there would have been another 30 minutes and possibly penalties. What were you thinking those of you that left?

Have to agree to some extent with cmonurz, if those are the attendances. What annoyed me at the start was that people were denying a drop of several hundred fans was even happening. It was. Just because you don't like it don't mean its not there. But those last attendances are up there with last season.

That said, I phoned the ticket office at 6 last night and was able to pretty much choose where I sat in the ground.

We had our "reserves" playing which I know puts off a lot of STHs, there were alot of unfamiliar faces near us last night which implies to me that when STHs don't take up their seats others want to enjoy the madstad experience, if we had more seats for league games they'd be able to do so more often

Give it up, we all know that Schards has money on RFC getting relegated.

Our attendance last night was excellent, given all the circumstances, have a look at some of the other 3rd round drops in demand at many of the bigger clubs. Just over 20k at Sunderland!!

For a start, Sunderland's attendance has nothing to do with us! Secondly, Schards didn't even start this thread, so I don't know why you've picked on him! Thirdly, betting on Reading getting relegated is a financial, rather than an emotional decision. Were you there last night 17 bus?

If you bothered to read the forum you would know that i no longer attend due to finances.

The fact that demand falls in the cup at big clubs means that it is not exclusive to Reading.

Schards has been the one mouthing off the most about attendances, and using any reason for RFC not to move ahead, sad really.

WTF has who started the thread got to do with anything??? Neither did Woodcote, but he is ok to get shot down.
