Everton/Chelsea tickets

by Stuka » 15 Feb 2011 10:06

When do you reckon the tickets will start to go on sale? Perhaps Tuesday 22nd to people with high number of Royalty Points? Often seems to take a few days to sort out and there isn't a lot of time before next round.

They'll be on sale Monday with General Sale Friday probs. Wont have the same situation as we did with Stevenage hopefully!

Should have a lot more tickets than Stevenage. At Chelsea, in theory, about 6,000

We'll struggle to take 1500 to Chelsea, and about 500 to Everton.

Only 1500 daytrippers to a game which I expect to be priced around £25?

Agree about Everton 500 for a midweek would be about right

I get paid Thursday 24th- so consensus is I'll have reasonable chance to get a ticket if next round at the Bridge? Everton's a no brainer.

That's not bad, Arsenal v Leeds was £45 I think.

£9 for a months subscription to ESPN is a better bet.

I'd imagine that's an initial allocation. If they sell quickly they'll probably release more

I wonder what they'll set the points level at. I hope that it's not too high as I used 1801 points to get the Stevenage ticket... I've only got just over 600 left.

I suspect that's not the case.

Under FA Cup rules (21a, to be precise), Reading are entitled to 15% of the total tickets - 6,000, as Ipswich took there - but if they do take the whole lot then they're not on a sale or return basis. They have to commit to paying for the whole lot whether they sell them or not - and Chelsea don't relax this as some clubs (e.g. Everton, I think) do as they know they'd be able to sell the tickets themselves.

So Reading would most probably have had the choice of either taking 3,000 on a sale or return basis or taking 6,000 and paying for every single one of them including any unsold ones, with no middle ground. I've had to deal with Chelsea ticket policies myself recently and the people in charge will just noit listen to reason or compromise.

I'm not surprised they've decided to limit their financial risk on it - 3,000 tickets at (say) £25 each is a financial exposure of 75k.

Presume it'll be the same price for both tiers and those buying first will be stuck in the corner block.

Want to go to Goodison anyway for our last meaningful game of the season where day trippers will be at a minimum!
