Will Wembley be ready for Monday?

by TheMaraudingDog » 20 May 2011 12:25

All the work that needs to be done to take down the advertising etc from the big game on Saturday has to be done by Monday, and then all the new boardings put up. Not to mention different segregation and the state of the pitch.

Can't help but think Wembley won't be as it should be and they dont really care for little old RFC

I'm also concerned about the time they'll have to repair the pitch following the undeniably second rate football that'll take place two days before our big day out.

had to move the FA Cup because the pitch needs two weeks to be readu for a champions league final

Less than 48 hours later it will be OK for a championship final

How does that work?

in theory Wembley should be better equipped this year than other years as the championship play off final is usually the third of 3 games in 3 days.

The only real worry on this is the replacing of all the branding and advertising stuff plus signage, etc.

Really it all depends how long it takes for UEFA to clear out - but it is something the bods at the Football League have been worried about. It'll be a long Sunday for them, though.

Yeah but it's usually the third play-off game in three days ie. all the same sort of game, same media set-up, same advertising etc.

This time they have to strip out all the Champions League stuff and replace it with Football League stuff, which is why they need extra time. But they'll be fine, just need to put a big shift in.

I'll be very disappointed if I don't find TMD still asleep in one of the aisles when I get into the ground

I can't see the pitch being a problem seeing as they normally play on a Rugby pitch......

I suspect it's the mess they leave in the corporate boxes that's the real worry

Who, Reading?

Pretty sure that London Irish play on a football pitch, m8.

Hopefully the pitch will be a rutted mess and the groundstaff drive a tractor over it on Sunday night for good measure.

Yeah, plough that motherfukker. As long as the air is okay for football then Reading don't need to worry about the ground.

I'm not too worried about all the signage and branding being in place, actually.

Don't Manchester United have a track record of smashing up the dressing room? Do we have theirs or those of the winners?
