The Watford Girls School has always been good for parking and getting away after the game.

according to fanzone.co.uk the girls school is mainly car park season ticket holders:

M Browne has e-mailed us, and says 'You can no longer park at Watford Grammar School for Girls unless you arrive really early as they reserve most of their spaces for car park season ticket holders. The car park at Watford General Hospital is a nightmare to get out of, at least an hour!!

I've used the Girls School in the past and also the multi storeys in the town centre are only 15 minutes walk away.

We just parked in a public car park at one end of the town centre, 15 minute walk roughly

M Brook I've hung around the Girls School in the past and, when moved on, the multi storeys in the town centre which are only 15 minutes walk away.

Isn't this one also live on the telly and so is an 5.20 kick off..... whether that makes parking any easier or not is anyone's guess of course.

I tend to park in the Harlequin Shopping Centre in town, and just walk up....plenty of pubs in town too, whereas there is not much doing nearer the ground.

Parking in the area is pretty tightly controlled so the best bet is a car park in the town centre. I've used Church St car park a couple of times, then a short walk to the Goodfellows.

It you want free parking the best place is at the end of Vicarage Road/Faraday court over the railway.

I think Church Street is about the closest (other than the hospital car park which is really expensive and difficult to get out of.

For those who don't want to pay, there are some residential streets off Tolpits Lane which aren't far away from Vicarage Road. However, that area can be a bit like Whitley.

Was thinking about going to this, can get a direct train there, but it's unlikely I'll bother.

A real home game for me. Leave for the ground 30 minutes before kick off and home 20 mins or so after final whistle. Makes the usual boredom a bit more bearable!

My first away game in a few years - and we'd better win it by a staggering number of goals to make up for the appalling home game at the beginning of the season. I'm convinced throwing good money after bad will solve all problems here.

Go on, Red, take the risk - you probably won't get mugged on the walk from the station

Do you still have to walk all the way around the allotments behind the ground to get to the away end?

I went to the beer festival when we played there a few years ago, just skipped the match.

These modern all seater stadia just don't appeal to me.

You really haven't been there for a long time!

And the answer is no, unless you've approached the ground from the wrong direction. Away entrance is now on Vicarage Road itself.

Perhaps if you talk to them nicely they will let you sit on the wooden benches stuck onto the open terracing or maybe in the condemned old (main) stand itself.
