it looks like the club have either given leeds the whole of the south stand or frozen the other half off for now. is there any confirmation of what we have given leeds?

we've already sold more than 20,000 for it, so i very much doubt that's including 4000 leeds, otherwise we would be nearer 22,000 so far.

Well if you click here

http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/HomeGames/0,,10306~411967,00.html

You can see the ticket prices for the south stand which would indicate that it will be open for home fans.

Quite.
The decision to give Leeds the whole end makes no sense whatsoever.

Why, not as if we are selling out games at the minute?

Well it does if the club want a sell-out. Otherwise we'd be looking at another 20k or perhaps 21k.

I'm actually against the away fans having the whole south stand, as the noise they make will be bloody loud, and it helps Leeds, not us.

The next 4 games should have a cracking atmosphere each.

I agree with the sentiments of D to D.
Some people miss the bigger picture

Leeds are a serious threat to our chances of promotion this season.
They have a chance to force their way into the playoffs, where we could even wind up facing them.
If they are to achieve that, then they are going to have to pick up points at places like the Madejski.
It is undeniable that the whole south stand belting out "marching on together" will make for a cracking atmosphere, and in all truth, even if we only gave Leeds half the stand, they will still outsing us.
I think that by giving them twice that amount, it will lift the Leeds players more than our own.

With the upcoming fixtures, it is nip and tuck as to whether Reading can gain automatic promotion, and in such circumstances, any advantage that can be garnered, however small, should be maximised.
Some will remember Wolves away in the playoffs, where our support was split in different stands, and then fed utter bullshit from Wolves as to why.

So, by giving Leeds the whole end makes a sell out more likely? Big deal.
I look at it this way: An extra few grand on ticket sales in one Championship fixture Vs. Doing anything which could harm the chances of automatic promotion, and the, what, £40M windfall it brings.

We didn't have to give Leeds the whole end, and IMHO, we shouldn't have done.

The game will be won and lost by 22 players on the pitch, not by how many away fans will be in attendance.
