Bars are legally permitted to serve draught beers into confirming measured "glasses" in either ⅓ pint ("nip"), half pint, ⅔ pint (schooner) or any volume above that in multiples of half a pint.
Obviously there's going to be the issue of profit on behalf of the concession owner to think about but it could work in their favour. With the price of beer going up (not least of which because of the beer duty escalator) it can't be much longer before people start to think twice and ultimately don't bother paying the best part of £5 for a pint - especially when you have to pour it down your neck when you only have 7 minutes left to drink it after queueing for most of half time.
So i'd really like to see the draught beers served in 2/3rds of a pint schooners in the stadium. I rarely get a drink on arrival these days as there just isn't time to enjoyably get a pint in, and whilst it's nice to have a drink at half time, a half just isn't enough and a pint is again just a bit too rushed (although that doesn't stop us ).
Anyone else?
(BTW i'm not suggesting scrapping pints in place of schooners at all, but just offering it as another option alongside a half or a pint)
