Reading Football club (holdings )PLC Accounts

by Royals and Racers » 15 Mar 2013 10:05

I have just purchased the latest accounts for year end 30th June 2012,normally i get the football club accounts but those are not available only last years.
As always i`m not clever enough to make head or tail of them, maybe any accountants amongst us will be able to help decipher them.

I purchased a book written in Mandarin Chinese. Don't understand any of it.

I saw an MRI scan of my foot. I couldn't interpret it.

Everyone`s a comedian-the accounts have been logged at Companies house for a while and can`t remember seeing an analysis of them yet.

There was a really well written article in one of the last editions of The Whiff which set out very clearly how football clubs structure their finances. It contained the sort of information those in board rooms would rather the fans did not get to know.

Now how about STAR launching a campaign to get the club to publish the accounts in the match day magazine. That would be a really useful contribution to creating an informed supporter base.

Don't launch a campaign. Just follow these guidelines and publish the records to STAR members.

FOI only applies to public bodies. It has absolutely no relevance to RFC accounts.

The guy who did this analysis did the same last year for STAR and it was published on their website and I have heard he is doing the same again this year.

For those interested the RFC Holdings PLC accounts in future do not include RFC but only the Madejski Hotel. Anyone who held shares in RFC (apart from Anton) is now a hotelier, so not sure whether the 2012 accounts include both or not.

Someone has already done an analysis of them - see the black hole in the accounts thread as I'm sure there was a link in there. Possibly on TTE?
