Exciting news though, a flash new big screen will replace the current one at the Mad Stad at some point this season. #readingfc

Some seats will have to be removed to make space for it. New PA system as well. #readingfc

Beats me why you need any sort of screen in the stadium. Do people not watch the game any more? I was happy with golden goals tickets and half time scores on cardboard mats hanging off the wall.

I like the old screen, with the crude animations and the giant clapping hand when we scored.

Couldn't agree more. What's the point of big screen?

Also reduces capacity. Below 24k now I guess. Small time.

why don't we show replays on the screen? Is there a stated reason for it?

Why do we need a bigger screen? Are they expecting to show highlights on it etc etc

3points why don't we show replays on the screen? Is there a stated reason for it?

Undermines the referee's decision during the game or wording to that affect.

Any truth in the rumour that we have sold the old one to Blackburn ?

Contentious decisions were never allowed to be shown but you can replay plenty of other things.
The obvious thing I can think of is that there's a game of football going on and showing constant replays would be distracting.
You would also presumably need someone editing whatever is being filmed in real time, no idea if that needs equipment we don't have or extra staff.

Just seen Blackburn's team for today.
Does include 'B Screen' in goal.....

Do the rules insist all players are human ? Has anyone ever tried naming an inanimate object in their team (no Keith Scott jokes please)

It's basically just there for kiddie birthday messages the team lineups and some sponsorship messages.

We need a new one every now and then because i suspect it's cheaper and easier than maintaining it to keep it in good nick in the long term.

It's actually used for replays and key refereeing decisions at every home game.

Well, from where I'm sitting I can't see the action in the north-west corner very well so I often watch that on the screen.
