There's always one, isn't there? But isn't it amazing how these "die-hard" and "fanatical" fans only bother coming back when we're home to Man Utd. :roll:

Evening Scrote A die-hard Royals fan is furious his beloved club will not grant him a ticket for tomorrow’s match – even though he is travelling 12,000 miles across the world for it.

Fanatical Reading supporter Keith Dugdale claims the club’s ticket office has scored an own goal by refusing him a ticket for the clash with Manchester United because he hasn’t collected enough ‘loyalty points’.

Mr Dugdale, 44, who has lived in Asia and Australia for the last 15 years but used to live on Shinfield Road, South Reading, is on business in Europe this week and has managed to arrange to fly to England for just 10 hours to see his favourite team tomorrow.

But despite spending days on the internet and getting family members in England to phone up continually, he was unable to get a ticket before they sold out.

If you can help Mr Dugdale with a ticket call the Evening Post on (0118) 918 3060.

It seems a bit convinient that his buisness meeting in Europe happend to be at the same time as we play Man U.

What a ridiculous story

Why is he furious? Whats his divine right to get a ticket for this one game which is conveniently against Utd?

Since its his only match in 15 years I think he can afford a highly inflated ticket from somewhere

The game is sold out so the club have no tickets to offer the guy. If they do I will be seething.

Tickets are not transferable so if this pillock is featured in Monday's paper with a ticket I will expect the club to investigate the role of the Evening Post in breaking the club's rules and the original ticket holder to have his membership card/season ticket withdrawn.

The Evening Post have a lot to answer to this week regarding 1 or 2 stories. The reporting of the 2 brother's who are both Reading/Man Utd fans was a joke.

Perhaps an issue for STAR to look at regarding the Evening Post.

:roll: They can print what stories they like! Star can't tell them what to write. I'm just disappointed that the EP bothers giving any column inches to any of these so-called fans and their non-stories.

I'm with the rest of you - I think a letter to the Evening post is in order asking if this "fanatical fan" would like a ticket at the expense of someone else who lives locally and has been supporting the team at enough matches to enable them to get a ticket.

If he was so "fanatical" he wouldn't have moved away - I know many who couldn't - but he wants to have his cake and eat it.

The brothers story wasn't so bad, it was certainly no more than informational though (by the way one of them is a reading/spurs fan not a reading/manu fan) and both have been st holders at the club for countless seasons.

my question would be - did they get some else to use their tickets or were their seats left empty - now that'd be a story if they were left empty.

Stuff like this really pisses me off.

So - let's summarize -

'Self-righteous twat who assumes that he is owed something by RFC and who complains bitterly in a story slanted to make you sympathise with him but which really only highlights his own lack of foresight and commitment is rewarded for being said twat and for his manipulation of the media.'
