upgrade ST for Chelsea match

by woodley_royal_124 » 26 Jul 2007 18:39

Does anyone know if I would be able to get a Season Ticket upgraded from concession to Adult for the Chelsea match that is being played at home on 15th August ?

Can't see why not, but if you call the TO they are the only ones who can tell you for sure.
I didn;t have a single problem upgrading tickets last season and did it for 'big 4' games

Call them up and just pay the difference from a con to an adult ticket. I sometimes think that people are scared to phone people up and ask.

Phone them up, or go in - it's not a problem. I've done the same as the game finishes too late for my young nephew...

If there is a problem then don't kick up a fuss just go back another day at a different time and see someone else.

Well you must have friends in very high places. I was only allowed to upgrade the max 3 times last season, and when i tried a fourth time (v Fulham or Watford, can't remember now, but it wasn't a "gold" game for sure), I was told in no uncertain terms to stop taking the piss!! Incredible thatg I want ed to pay more money to the club, but it was "against club policy" to allow more than 3 upgrades per season.

So this close season I tried converting my 2 concessions ST's to full adult, even though for most of the season my sons would be using the tickets, they againb said no way! unless I could provide details of who the adults were for the new ST's they wouldn;t upgrade them. In theory I have to relinquish the 2 consession ST's, then wait until the "unsold" ST's were available for general sale, and then reapply, with full details of who the adults were. This effectively makes it impossible to to keep the seats we have as a family of 3 together. The only way this can happen is when my sons both reach 21 when the club will allow the upgrade as long as my sons names are on the tickets!!!

Seems incredible to me but there you are. Since then, I have actually been advised by a senior sales manager that if I have any problems upgrading on a match by match basis, I should contact her and she would make the necessary arrangements. So as long as I don't make a habit of upgrading, I should be ok to do so for about 50% of this years matches.

I just don't understand why the club make it so damn hard for the supporters to actually support the club!!!

Of course, when we only half fill the 38k capacity stadium, wonder if they will be quite so arrogant!?!

he said he did it for Big 4 games, he did not say he did at for ALL of the big 4 games

The club are quite righ to have this "upgrade 3 times" policy to prevent people buying child discounted season tickets just to "hold a seat".

If we had a large number of home evening kick offs then we could argue they could maybe make it 5 upgrades but the sentiment behind thepolicy is correct

Whilst we're on the subject of checking member cards - anyone (STAR?) know what the club's take is on two parents sharing a season ticket (i.e. taking it in turns to go to games) so that they can take their son who wouldn't be able to go on his own?

I know the club would tell you that they are not transferable, but I also know they will turn a blind eye, and that hundreds are swopped around every game. All they are really concerned about is tickets being sold on at a profit, or concession tickets being mis-used / abused. Hopefully flexibility will return once the stadium expands as the current inflexibility to be able to change names on season tickets / upgrade etc. was a problem to some last year, but will problems will become more widespread as more people's circumstances change.

So why didn;t you just provide the details and get the tickets you wanted ?
No proof of identity is needed for adult tickets - you just fill in the forms with your kids names but tick the adult box.

I've just upgraded my kid's concession ticket for Chelsea - not a problem this season, and I confimed with the TO that this season there are no limits on upgrading concesssion tickets.

Common sense by the club, reducing concession ticket abuse by allowing upgrades as often as required. Last season I saw someone checking the gate lights just once.

If you add all the individual upgrades to the concession ST price, you are in effect paying the adult ST price.
