Watford sell out ticket allocation - Your club needs you!

by runrunrunrungilksey » 23 Sep 2009 19:15

Watford have anounced that they have all but sold their away ticket allocation for this weekends fixture, it's probably now more than ever that we need a decent home showing, not just from the team but from the fans as well.

It goes without saying that Rogers will get loads of stick from the yellow end of the stadium (enough without us jumping on his back as well) and also that the Watford players and management will be more than "up for" putting one over on us, for various reasons but none more so than the Rogers leaving / Tommy Smith saga. (I'm sure the fans will give us plenty of stick for that as well).

Yes Rogers is the new Reading manager and I like many other fans haven't always been as supportive as I could have after our bad start this season but he is the Reading manager and with the club without a home win since January, what more of a reason do we need to get behind him and the team this weekend and show the support the club needs. A turn in form at home will give the players a lift, more confidence, pride and hopefully the start of an unbeaten run.
I'm sick of all this negativity I'm reading at the moment, so let's all help the club turn this corner and produce a great atmosphere for the team this weekend.

Not Rodger's biggest supporter at the present time, but 100% spot on.

Shades of Filbert Street in 1995. 11,000 STHs, 3,500 Watford, ? others???

One thing for sure. There will be a brilliant atmos and certainly the best since Birmingham City last season. Will we deliver or will we freeze? Will the atmos be too intimidating or will it be the inspiration the players need? The WSU might even join in with the odd clap.

Whatever happens, at last we have a tasty derby to enjoy.

COME ON YOU ROYALS!!!!

It maybe too late to organise - or not - "theme day" to get the party started?

Thoughts?

a ST seems to have landed in my lap for this one so I should be going to this.

As long as we're in the game and not playing terribly I can see a noisy Watford support actually bringing out the best* in our fans. When we've got some rivalry and something to bounce off we can often be quite loud, providing we're not watching us get a footballing lesson.

This could be a crucial game, it could destroy our morale, or boost it massively depending on the result / performance. Of course, it could also have no significant effect on our season as well.

*well at least some noise as Y26+25 enjoy some "banter" with Watford.

Way too late Gilksey.

How about a car park demo. It doesn't take long to set up one of them

I know. More likely is a subtle movement in the seat. You have to watch carefully otherwise you will miss it.

I remember a few years back when we were singing stand up for Steve Coppell, A member of the west stand stood up. It shocked everyone, but an investigation soon showed that he had in fact stood up to get another kit kat chunky.

That must have been the lower tier. My mate eats all the KKCs in the upper!

I think this post is totally spot on. I'm not happy with the club at the moment either but this game is absolutely crucial.

I really hope that all Hob Nobbers get behind this one, even if you're 'certain' we'll lose anyway. Spread the word, come on URZ!

I agree. Whatever the opinions we hold regarding the man with the big hair, squeaky voice or big watch are, only one thing matters. Getting behind the team on Saturday and giving it everything we have. This includes the WSU so expect me to be thrown out!

5 pound bet that the watford fans do a sterling singing/ making a noise job, and we sit there quiet for pretty much all of the game, apart from to boo cummings or kebe when they aren't dribbling how we want them too...

 What the FF is going on with his barnet at the moment? Has he fertilised it or what? You'd think for somebody with a few quid in the bank he'd have it looking a bit tidier like. Or has he had to contend with too many hair raising moments recently?

Rodgers must be bricking this game. His team must be unsettled with their confidence totally shot whilst Watford have got it together under Mackay. He is going to get dogs abuse - deservedly so - from the Watford supporters and if the result goes against him and the Reading support gets particularly grumpy in the face of taunting from the away fans I think his position might be untenable already. I fear that Reading fans are going to get a taste of the sweet medicine we used to dish out to McGhee and Pardew on a regular basis!

Which is why we need to support him and the club this weekend.

"Back the boys and make some noise" simply isn't good enough anymore we need to be supportive from the first whistle to the last and help get some atmosphere down onto the pitch, start giving the players a home crowd to rival any other in the division!
