We're not buying many players these days so do we need a DoF as well as a Chief Exec?.
Why not consolidate the posts, make a saving, and use the money to fund wages for a new player?

Our DofF has a role quite unlike the DofF at any other club.

Whilst we have a Chairman who does not take a day-to-day management role and who needs someone to work between him and the football side, then the answer is a resouding "yes."

Given the Chief Exec and DofF do totally different jobs this thread may as well ask whether we shouldn't combine the roles of goal keeper and Chairman !

And given that we're as active in the transfer market as we have ever been then the original idea seems way off beam.
